Just a little tribute to spring 💐 I know that we’ll probably get another cold spell soon enough but this gorgeous weather is just making me so happy! We made the most of it today with a walk at the beautiful @rhsharlowcarr gardens and yesterday I was completely chuffed that I was able to dry a load of washing on the line outside! 🙌🏼🤪 Loser, I know! ☀️

it’s sharing facts time
one of the most common questions I get is ‘why am I not losing weight’ and then a run-down of what they’re eating...
this is actually pretty simple
your calories in should be lower than your calories out for you to lose body fat because your body will use the excess fat when your calories are lower
-why aren’t you in one?-
that extra biscuit you didn’t tell your coach about, the 400 calorie ‘health’ smoothie and the mountain of mayonnaise on your tea
all of this counts so by ignoring it you’re just kidding yourself
don’t be ashamed of eating extra bits, but be accountable for them and adapt your food accordingly
-no weight change still?-
this is because your focus is wrong. If your goal is also to add muscle, your actual weight on the scales may not be changing as much as you want.
that is because your body composition is changing from more fat to more muscle so while your weight may not drop drastically, your body fat will do
don’t get caught up with the numbers on the scales, focus on the number of your cals
(all of the above is based on my own research)
Despite the many accumulative causes of obesity, sugar has been branded by many foolish nutrition fanatics as the sole perpetrator. ‘Qualified’ practitioners continue to deliver claims that consumption of sugar will result in an ‘anti-metabolic’ style malfunction, causing more relative fat gain that any other calorie source. This is of course a disastrous fabrication of truth.
Sugar is a carbohydrate. In isolation, it contains 4 calories per gram and does not contain any nutrients, fibre or satiating qualities. Whilst lack of satiety may subjectively lead to excessive consumption of more sugar or general calories, this presumptive permutation can be applied after consumption of any food, regardless of sugar quantity. Furthermore, an individual has the conscious choice to consume more food or not.
100g of sugar amounts to 400 calories. But 100g of sugar within this selection of consumable food amounts to 1308 calories. This directly shows us that there are 908 non-sugar comprising calories within these foods. Additionally, that some relatively ‘high sugar’, palatable foods are also high in overall calories anyway.
As evidence has shown those who wish to comprehend it, a calorie surplus (by whatever means) causes obesity. Therefore, whilst ratios of sugar and other calorie sources may subjectively nurture satiety and food behaviour, consumption of sugar does not inherently affect the possibility of obesity to an individual any more so than consumption of any food. Over time, consumption of too many total calories for the amount an individual moves will result in obesity, regardless of sugar’s presence within those calories consumed.
Eating/drinking sugar may well contribute to obesity. But only in unison with many other deep rooted nutritional, behavioral and psychological variables; all of which result in the obesity catalyst - a consistent state of caloric surplus. Sugar is merely another pseudo culprit. And it is unfounded.🤜🤛

Chicken & Sweet Potato Syn Free curry for lunch. .
INGREDIENTS ( for 2 people )
• 500 g sweet potato • 1 pepper • 1 small onion • 80g spinach • 3 garlic cloves (I use frozen pre diced) • 12g ginger (I use frozen pre diced) • 1 tsp chilli powder • 1 tsp coriander • 1/2 tsp cumin • 1/2 paprika • 1 tsp curry powder • 1/2 tsp tandoori powder • 1/2 tsp turmeric • 1/2 heaped tbsp tom purée • 50g fat free natural yogurt (add at the end)• I also add diced chicken breast but you could keep it veggie if you wanted 🙌🏻

So often people turn to look in the buggy to see if it’s twins I’m pushing around. I often hear “I thought you had twins.” Or “I wondered if they were the same age.” Up until today, I normally just smile and remain a little stumped as to what to say.
Maybe it’s the joyous smell of spring in the air or the fact I’m delivering a very special package to the neonatal unit (see next post) but today when a man kindly held open the door and said “I thought you had twins.” I confidently and happily replied, “Well technically I do as Charlotte is a surviving twin.” It felt amazing to say it out loud rather than just think it 💁🏼♀️#foreveratwinmama .
I could drink espresso martinis every day for the rest of my life 🍸☕️ Chao Phraya last light was lovely, would 100% go back 🤤 We got the set menu for V day which I’m so happy about because I tried things I wouldn’t normally.. one thing I will say though.. I’ve only JUST started eating prawns and eat no other seafood, and every time I’ve eaten prawns they’ve been from a packet and are ready to eat. Last night the starter had battered prawns with the tails on.. it wasn’t until the end of the meal when everyone had the tails on their plate that I realised you’re not supposed to eat them 🙈
