Today is the "Pink Moon!" The moon won't actually be pink, the name comes from pink flowers that bloom in early spring, known as ground phlox. I found out thanks to @worlddaycalendar's last post. These nails are inspired by the photo they posted!
Saw this beautiful church in Southwold last week and the intricacy of its architecture has been nagging at me to draw it ever since. Also experimenting with digital art programs which is WAAAYYY out of my comfort zone but I thought this turned out pretty well, so here ya go 👍❤️
"At the Moulin Rouge: Two Women Waltzing" by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. (1892)
In the work At the Moulin Rouge: The Women Dancing the avant-garde artist steps across the boundaries of “social niceties” as he displays two women embracing each other while waltzing in a café concert. They are holding hands and have their arms wrapped around each other. The focus of the painting is on the open embrace between the women, all the man are in the background and out this world of intimacy. The eroticism of Toulouse-Lautrec’s little painting is deepened not diminished, by its subdued tone. Tenderness and sex are linked in Toulouse-Lautrec’s imagination.
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec had obtained a backstage pass in the late 1880s, a private viewing of prostitutes sensually embracing each other. He was deeply moved by their natural intimacy, which influenced him to launch a series of lesbian artwork on the true affairs of these women.
Invocation becomes declaration. Worship becomes recognition.
When blessings mature,
Glimpsing the source,
leaves no doubt.

Happy Good Friday, y’all!
My absolute favorite place/happy spot in the world. Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. Where the waterfall meets the ocean. Nature renews spirit.
Meow. Wolf. 🐈
Where wolfs can meow and cats can woof and no one questions it. Where life as we know it can be transformed into one big art exhibit. Where being like a little kid again is not shamed, but encouraged. A place where artists dreams and doodles really did become a reality in which to experience and quite literally touch.
Where for moments you really do feel at one with the strangers around you. Where swimming through the eb and flow are just mutually understood and not bad or good. Where the sense to be made goes out the window, replaced by the admiration of the weird, the wacky and the artistic vomit you accept because it has been created there, in front of you. 🦑🍭🎨
Where the bold and gentle live in harmony and any thoughts are fair game. Where being in the moment isn’t a meditation to practice but a forced initiation through surprise, wonder and lights, lots of lights. Where there are carpools of centipedes and strawberry butterflies. Human sized caterpillars and fridge transportation. Imagination is your strength and both love and pain are the driving force to express it. 🧚🏼♀️✨✨✨🧚♂️
💧 Don't have anything right now 💧 but still background painting practice. I have some wips but theyre yet to be finished lol I guess I have moments where I hit rock bottom on art but hey I did kinda want to improve on backgrounds cause I suck on making them lol
