Send It in a Letter
Since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. Colossians 1:9
Paul’s letter to the people at Colossae was exactly that—a letter (Colossians 1:2). Words penned on a page that carried hopes for continued fruitfulness and knowledge and strength and endurance and patience (vv. 10–11). Can you imagine what a dose of good medicine such words were to the faithful at Colossae? Just knowing that someone was praying nonstop for them strengthened them to stay steady in their faith in Christ Jesus.
Our words of encouragement can dramatically help others in need.
How have others’ words encouraged me? What opportunities do I have to give someone else the “letter” of encouragement they need?
God, bring someone to my mind that needs encouragement. Then help me act on Your prompting. Amen.
In Colossians 1:9–12, Paul strings together a beautiful chain of cause and effect ideas where one thing leads to another, which leads to another. The clue that this is what Paul is doing is in the words “so that.” Twice he uses this phrase to connect what he is saying to his previous statement (vv. 10, 11). His progression of thought goes like this: Knowing God’s will through the Spirit (v. 9) leads to making decisions and acting in ways that honor God; knowing Him more (v. 10) leads to endurance, patience, and thanksgiving (vv. 11–12). In this progression we can see how God plans for our growth—one thing builds on another. But it seems significant that this list ends with thanksgiving. The ultimate result of this progression is joyful thanks to God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Tetapi buah Roh ialah: kasih, sukacita, damai sejahtera, kesabaran, kemurahan, kebaikan, kesetiaan, kelemahlembutan, penguasaan diri. Tidak ada hukum yang menentang hal-hal itu.
Galatia 5:22-23 TB
After tossing and turning, worried about work, I woke up and turned to the Word. It wasn't even 1AM. These words from Mark jumped out at me. I will hold them in my heart, dwell on them in my mind and have them on my lips as I go back to sleep. Good night.
Shalommm Brother and Sister! Tetap semangat yaaaaa.. Tuhan pingin kita tetap semangat😀😀 Janganlah hendaknya kerajinanmu kendor, biarlah rohmu menyala-nyala dan layanilah Tuhan. (Roma 12:11)
(Roma 12:12)
Semangat ya guyss!!! #jesuslovesyou#jesus#jesuschrist#prayer#godisgood#bible#velajarbersamachersky#dontgiveup#nevergiveup#holyspirit
Are you a dependable person? Or are you wish washy? I'm amazed how Jesus chose frail human beings like you and me to build His Kingdom. (On this spot, Jesus told Peter, "On this rock, I will build my church..." How can Jesus trust an impulsive, temperamental fisherman--who will deny him 3 times--to lead His Church? But this is what He does. He uses broken people and makes them do amazing things. God wants to use you too!) ~ Bro. Let’s take a midweek moment to talk about self-care. Your mental, physical and spiritual health are critical to living a balanced life. I’ve recently taken the step to TRY to better my physical health, information we see a lot of across social media.
We do not spend enough time talking about mental and spiritual health. You are allowed to take time for yourself. You’re allowed to spend an hour reading a book, watching your favourite show or talking a stroll. Your thoughts matter and you are valued. Whether you choose to prioritise yourself by spending time at the gym, on a spa day, poolside with a novel or in prayer, choose to improve yourself. Choose to be the best possible version that you can be.
Remember where your identity lies - not in the ways and opinions of the world, but in the knowledge of your Creator. As difficult as it may seem, try to allot time to spending time in the world or Christian literature (which there is an abundance of). Choose to value yourself.
I was talking to my mom tonight about how I could never be with someone who doesn’t share the same thoughts and beliefs as I do. It’s even more important to me since I’ve had my spiritual awakening. She then brought up the Bible verse about being equally yoked.
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? I LOVE THIS❣️You can either work together or work against each other. #god#bible#bibleverse#corinthians#oxen#equallyyoked#worktogether#samethoughts#samebeliefs#righteousness#light#love
神啊！你的公義達到高天， 你曾經行過大事， 神啊！有誰像你呢？
Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens, you who have done great things. Who is like you, God?
Filled in for a friend today and lead worship in a tiny place which is very dear to my heart. I felt humbled as God ministered to me amidst my “doing”. It isn’t about songs and music. It’s about people - real, hard life and bringing hope by being a willing piece in God’s jigsaw. Sometimes one must throw away the stage, the cables and the microphone for a tactile, ever essential reminder on why we do what we do.
While God is a term we use to name the Mysterious Absolute, Christ is the term used to define the fullness of that Mystery imbedded within all creation – both visible and invisible. Christ is the fullness of the hidden God, and the final “ground" of reality of all created things. The “Son of God” is more than just the incarnation of the “transcendent Whole" in one historic figure – Jesus -- the “Son” is the ontological Reality imbedded in all manifest things – as both their source, content and consummation. Until Christianity awakens to the fact that the term “Christ”, refers to SO MUCH MORE than just the historical person of Jesus, but is the definition of God’s action within all creation -- that is to “anoint", “mingle”, “merge” or saturate the Fullness of the Son into all things – Christianity will continue to miss its mandate as a UNIVERSAL VEHICLE of Love and as a Herald of it’s True Good News. Christ is the “transcendent within" from which all creation was born and shares its definition in this ontological womb of Eternal Light. All creatures, in heaven and on earth, share this common ontological root. This sapiential wisdom is not a religion to organize, or an orthadoxy to fill books with, but rather a Life to be PARTICIPATED in. Imbedded as a seed within all created things, is the Christ, the Blueprint of the Godhead – that FROM which everything has its existence, IN which everything finds its fullness and TO which all things find their ultimate fulfilment. When churches are taught, live and proclaim a Cosmic Christ, the historical Christ will be found to have a significantly greater relevance, attraction and interest to a modern world desperate for an internal substance of Spirit that can elevate human life to a place of complete triumph over its history of suffering and sorrow. God sends the angel Gabriel to a town in Galilee called Nazareth. He appears to Mary, a young virgin engaged in marriage to Joseph. Gabriel announces the coming miracle birth of Jesus. Jesus Christ will be the Son of God, the promised Messiah.
