Orioles lose Big tonight 16-7, and they drop both games of the doubleheader, and fall to last in the AL East.⚾️
Pitching was AWFUL (Except for Davis) to say the least tonight. Cobb was terrible in his first start back from the injured list, as he went only 2.2 Innings giving up TEN hits and NINE earned runs which is awful especially during a doubleheader with a depleted and tired out bullpen. Cobb also gave up 3 longballs to the Twins. Wright was not good out of the pen as he only went 3.1 innings and gave up 4 runs on 5 hits. Kline made his debut and was decent as he gave up 2 runs in 2 innings. Davis came in the 9th to save the bullpen and he struck out a batter giving up only one run on two hits (a Jonathan Schoop Homerun) his first ever run given up as a pitcher. Davis threw upwards of 85 mph tonight which is not bad whatsoever especially when you’re not actually a pitcher. Davis pitching was definitely the most exciting thing about the game, although the last thing anyone was expecting before this series was a Schoop Homerun off of Chris Davis. 🤨
Offense was good in the second game as the O’s rallied up 7 runs on 11 hits.
Núñez hit 2 bombs tonight, and he hit 1 earlier making 3 all together today. Alberto also homered tonight for 2 RBIs. The offense was good in both games (12 runs 24 hits), but the pitching was just not there whatsoever.
I know it’s frustrating to watch but this team looks extremely promising from an offensive standpoint, but the pitching obviously needs a complete revamp as it continues to be a problem. Don’t be surprised if we go on a big winning streak once the pitching staff starts to come around and settle in. Let’s keep smoking the ball tomorrow and take the series finale to avoid the sweep against the Twinkies!! Let’s go Birds!! 🔥🔶⚾️
Final outta Birdland. Chris Davis pitched an inning, Brandon Kline pitches his MLB debut for the O’s and there were multiple homers hit on either side.

Such an amazing day! Breakfast and hair with an amazing lady, she and my daughter gave me a great turtle wall art present that I love so much. And then I got to take the kids to their first Orioles game! We had amazing seats (another thoughtful present from a great friend!) and we had so much fun. A double header, although we didn't make it through the whole second game. Absolutely wonderful experience and they loved it!! #35isawesomesofar#benis11#icanthandlehowoldtheyare#birdland#orioles#birthdaysarethebest
