🥂I’ve learned over the years... nothing good comes from compromising my personal standards.
It may be difficult or uncomfortable, but having standards for yourself will never fail you.
I encourage you today: elegantly let your heart lead the way
Day 1 has come and gone! Here are some of our fav moments from last night ✨
Recap: we had the session start with some of @ctftoronto worship team! @melrogato and @jonatasrogato our Youth Pastors, spoke to us, and led us into incredible

& Of Course ~ ! No Jiufen trip would be complete without eating yam balls & sweet potato balls in sweet soup known as "yu yuan", 芋圆 & sweet potato balls, "ti gua yuan", 地瓜圆.
There are 2 famous shops that sell this famous sweet dessert there in Jiufen, namely 阿婆芋圆 Granny's Yam Balls & 阿柑姨芋圆 Auntie Ah Gan's Yam Balls.
We chose Auntie Ah Gan's even though it's quite a lot more legwork becoz of the panoramic views & the good reviews it has gathered on the internet.
And it doesn't disappoint ~ 👍✨
The yam & sweet potato balls are very chewy, mochi & slightly sweet with the subtle taste & aroma of yam & sweet potatoes that goes into the dough. They're made fresh on the spot daily & u can actually see the aunties kneading & making them on their ground floor.
We had the hot sweet soup versus their famous cold one coz it's just simply too cold that day with all the rain & fog. & the sweet soup was warm, just the right sweetness & contain all sorts of beans lightly sweetened & the best thing is the beans were soft, fragrant yet still retain their whole shape & not mushy.
A very much needed bowl of warmth after all that climbing in the cold dreary weather!!!
Ps 🙊: I'll show u all the scenic views we taken while climbing our way up to Auntie Ah Gan's & viewing out of Auntie Ah Gan's windows in the next post.
