People ask me why I put so much effort into cooking and food. One. I love it and two. Your brain uses 25% of your daily energy.
Where does that energy come from?? YOUR FOOD. -
You know that saying "follow your gut"? It's because all of your digested food is absorbed into your blood at your small intestine. The nutrients gets circulated, and energy is then sent to the brain for use. -
When you eat an apple, your body knows how to break it down into it's building blocks. However when you eat something chemically refined, your body has to break down the chemicals that are included with it. -
Your body is one big chemical reaction. Over thousands of years it's known how to break down natural food and then we started feeling it chemicals in processed food and these chemicals started to react within our bodies creating changes. -
Studies have shown that people who mainly eat whole foods have shown that the risk of depression is 25% to 35% lower in those who eat processed food. -
This fact scares the shit out of me. Because alot of people dont know where to start.
1️⃣ Start by small changes. Pick one thing a week.
2️⃣ You don't have to spend hours in the kitchen. Understand the foods you love. Don't deprive yourself, find alternative. Every morning I have a cookie or muffin for breakfast. Yet they contain 4 whole foods and take 10 minuets to make.
3️⃣ Drink an extra bottle/ glass of water a day. This helps to flush toxins and rehydrate your cells.
4️⃣ Shop the outside walls of the super market. This is where the whole foods are.
5️⃣ If you don't know what the ingredients on the back of the packet or they contain a number, you probably shouldn't eat it. -
I always feel way better going to bed prepared and leaving the house in the morning with a bag full of food. I'm not going to waste money in cafes on food I don't enjoy! I hope this helps simplify the idea so it can seam manageable.

For the past week, I’ve been on a boat drifting through the Komodo National Park in Indonesia, doing a free diving and yoga retreat with ✨💛
And it has been truly LIFE CHANGING!
I cannot even explain how humbling it is to be surrounded by the vast ocean, the power of a full Mumma moon, sleeping beneath a sheet of stars, witnessing every single sunrise and sunset, eating the most delicious and wholesome food to nurture our bodies, connecting to our breath, unfolding and unearthing emotions, habits and pre-existing limiting beliefs, and experiencing such profound and raw rebirths, every single day.
We’ve been rising with the sun, waking on the boat, watching the final moments of the moon as she falls in to the mountains surrounding our floating ship, doing rooftop yoga atop a gently rocking vessel, then getting in the ocean and moving ourselves deep within her belly, diving 20+ metres and experiencing such quiet, such bliss and serenity and meditation beneath the surface and the chaos of life, then going back to the boat and filling our bellies with an insanely yummy and healthy breakfast, cruising the sea for a little, then snorkelling, swimming with mantarays, swimming with sharks and turtles, playing on pink beaches and exploring until the day ends, watching sunset somewhere and falling deeper in love with the moon and this earth ever single day.
I cannot even begin to explain how BEAUTIFUL this place is - how BEAUTIFUL this trip has been.
Thank you for holding space for us to completely unfold, learn, grow, witnessing our own power and expanding our connection to the sea, the soul and the self. 💫
