Went for a bit of a walk with our cameras today. Not much in the way of growing things yet but we did find a busy beaver's hard work and some fun additions to trail markers 😊💀🌞 #ctstateparks#springhike
Rainy day at Bigelow Hollow finishing up that trail system with the Mashapaug Pond View Trail and the Bigelow Pond Loop. First time Edie has joined me in a bit, and of course we got soaked by rain. Poor cattlehuahua.
This morning I attended volunteer training with @ctforestandparkassociation, the group responsible for maintaining 825 miles of trail in Connecticut. In addition to trail maintenance, they support environmental education, outdoor recreation and conservation efforts in CT. I am a member, but this will be my first time volunteering. I use these trails constantly and I feel it is my responsibility to help ensure they will be here for others. Fellow hikers and backpackers: please consider supporting and volunteering with your local trail organizations! Those trails wouldn’t be there for you to enjoy without the hard work of others.
After orientation was over, I added 3.5 more miles toward the Blue Trails Challenge. The Highland Forest Trails are right behind the CFPA headquarters. A couple of figure 8s were necessary to get them all in one go. Sound ON for the last video! 🐸🐸🐸
