Just going with the flow this weekend 🤓
Do you have any idea how much sap it takes to get such a small amount of syrup 🤦🏼♀️ I love where we live. I say it often, I’ll say it again - we are fortunate to experience so much in our little corner of the world. The incidental learning that happens daily is unparalleled.
What are you favorite features of your corner of the world?
It’s these little notes that make me feel like I am doing this parenting thing right! As a father I wonder sometimes if I have made the right decisions , if I was too harsh or too lenient, and if I am supporting my kids the way I am supposed to. Yes I can be too harsh or too lenient, my decisions are right and wrong but I know I am doing what I am supposed to. There wasn’t a parenting manual handed to me when my children were born so I am writing it as I go. #parentingishard#dadlifeisthebestlife#figuringitallout#onedayatatime#lovemynotes
I hope you are excited as these two for the weekend!! .
What have you got planned this weekend? .
We are prepping the veggie patch, which is huge job! But will be so rewarding! This is our second year of growing veggies.
We just made our veggies boxes double the size in height (they were very low) so we need to get a trailer load of special veggie growing soil from a place up in the hills, some manure and what else do I need?
Calling all Gardner's, help me, it's so hard to keep our sandy soil rich enough in all the nutrients to grow delicious veggies.
They start off great but gradually it ends up a bit of a shamozzel and nothing seems to grow very well.
Anyway gardening is a great family project, which everyone here gets involved in.
Even though we are all novice gardeners, we are all learning together.
So good for you to stick your hands in the ground and connect with Mother Earth. 😍
If we survive three, I think we will be golden 🤓
This is what happens when you ask him to smile for real 🤦🏼♀️ Someone get this boy a dictionary - maybe by the time he can read he will be ready to smile 😂
It’s beautiful to see how much Miss A loves her dada. She’s especially loved having him around all day, every day, this half term. All of a sudden, I’ve become insignificant and all she wants is to be with him...which is exactly how it should be.❤️ .
I’m certainly not complaining. A perk of marrying a teacher is that I get to have a bit of a break during the half term. 🙌🏾 Dada’s enjoying his time in the spotlight before I go back to being the favourite next week. 😄 I’ll use this photo as future evidence to remind him that Miss A is a daddy’s girl at heart. #daddydaughtertime#daddydaughterlove
Don’t get me wrong, I love this city. I love its innovation, its patchwork quilt of neighborhoods and cultures, its passion, its drive. But one thing this city is not good at is telling you when enough is enough. This is the city of more — harder, faster, better, stronger. To live by those rules is to get sucked into the belief that success should come no matter the cost.
But some costs are too high. If our success means someone else’s displacement, we’re not creating a life, we’re delegating death. 🌱
It’s time we redefine what a life worth living looks like. I believe in life lived more abundantly, but the ground floor of that is life for everyone within my reach — not just for me. “We are all caught up in an inescapable network of mutuality tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly.” -Martin Luther King Jr. #communityovercompetition#enoughisenough
How do you practice a life of enough?

At times I find myself thinking where would I be if this man would not have been sent to and stationed in Champaign Illinois. God is so good. He heals and he is the answer. We owe him everything because he has blessed us with the world. I love these beautiful souls so so much. Baby cakes and the OG baby cakes
These two are literally two peas in a pod: best friends from birth, as opposite as they are alike, and together all of the time!
Family is very important to us 💕 We are blessed to be close to and surrounded by both sides of our large families!
What does family look like for you?
Interesting thing: tonight was the second time in the last week I had to change my son’s diaper on the floor of a restroom. First time was in a family restroom; the second, in the men’s restroom. Good thing I have a mat and some mad dad sanitation skills 💪🏽You would think nice establishments will give opportunity for fathers to change their kids’ diapers 🤔
When there’s no school and no work on Monday it’s time for the boys!! From riding the motorcycle, to jumping and playing at Defy, taking mommy lunch and taking naps it was a good day. #dadlifeisthebestlife#blessed#thegoodlife
