Went out to say farewell to this INCREDIBLE human last night, woke up with a full face of make up and my biscuit jar in bed with me 🤦♀️ @flissfloss9 you are one of the best people ever produced. I'm going to miss you as a colleague so much but I'm very glad I get to keep you as a friend.
Man...I know a lot of people can feel this message from @diddy ..So many times we think we have it “figured out” and have to pause and reset! Never be so determined to go down a path that you can’t “pause” reset or redirect. #dayofftoday#reset
I loved it. Just loved it.
Despite Ellis getting mad when I beat him playing his favorite football game. Despite the fact that reading 2 pages took 10 minutes because they kept calling me to look at what they were doing. Despite them bickering. Today was pretty amazing.
And I know that every teacher loves the unexpected snow day, but these days are the perfect reminder of the type of life I am working for. 😍 Days when I get to sit and enjoy breakfast at home with the boys, versus in my car. 😍 Days when I can get my workout in and put my pajamas back on after my shower, if I want to. 😍 Days when I can play games, read a book that has been collecting dust and watch a movie with the boys and then fit some work into pockets of time during the day when the boys play. 😍 Days where I don't feel rushed to get ALL.THE.THINGS done between the time the boys get to bed and the time I go to bed. You know - the laundry, cleaning the bathroom, and just breathing a little before repeating it again the next day. 😍 Days where I get to do WHAT I want, WHEN I want, while being more present with the boys. Because finding balance as a #workingmom is hard as shit, let alone finding time to do the things you want.
And yes, us moms deserve to do things we WANT each day too! 😉
So to my #workingmom friends, what would YOUR day look like if you had an unexpected day off??
