Our partners - Cry India - founded a trust that helped hundreds of children to get involved into education 💪🏻 Just imagine the positive butterfly effect caused by your efforts! 🦋
💬 @cry_india : Salem People Trust, a CRY project in rural Tamil Nadu, is doing a marvellous job of empowering the children of bonded labourers!⠀
Over 200 children have been re-enrolled in schools and more than a 100 children from bonded labour families were taken out of bondage. But SPT does not wish to stop at just that! Their efforts towards eradicating female foeticide and infanticide is creating a wave of change in their community.
Did you know that diarrhoea is 1 of the leading causes of under-5 death in Zambia? Thanks to your donations and our on the ground partner @butterflytreecharity , children at Nakawa Pre-School now have access to clean water and soap. 💧

“Things are not always as they seem...” 💜 Or “Don’t judge a book by its cover” is another phrase commonly used. Sometimes we need to stop and really think before we speak. Ask yourself have you seen the full picture or heard the full story before you make a comment. We can be quick to reply or share our opinions without realising that we may be doing more harm than good. Be kind, always. 💜 #myfriendlythoughts#dogood#bekind
Couldn't help but to reshare this message. Prevlidged to have people like this within our industry.
#inspo#ruralindustry#qldfloods#qlddrought#helpishere#goodman#aussiefarmers • A GOOD MAN •
Firstly, can I please bring your attention to the 2nd pic in this post... this won’t make a lot of sense to the ‘city slickers’ (ie me before I met my Husband 😉) but essentially it is the Livestock Industry of Australia uniting as one to help their own who have been devastated by the Qld floods. This campaign will be on the front pages of country papers starting tomorrow & shared amongst the Agricultural community. There are many players who have made this campaign happen but there is ONE man who wanted to help, came up with a few ideas, called on his contacts and then worked tirelessly to bring it all together. That man is my Husband, The Herd Online who is pictured in the first pic - toiling away barefoot in his office... he has dedicated most of the daylight hours of the past week to this campaign & then, when he can’t make any more phone calls, he helps put the kids to bed then heads back to the office to work on his own small business. Fantastic effort by so many big players in the Ag Industry - shout out to AuctionsPlus BlazeAid AgForce Queensland Australian Livestock and Property Agents Association Ltd Elders @beef__central Farm Weekly @thelandnews#landmark@qclnews Ray White Rural and Livestock rma network #ruralco@ruralweekly Stock & Land #stockjournal#tasmaniancountry The Weekly Times for pledging your support - now let’s raise some MONEY!!! #proudwife#onemanband#farmershelpingfarmers#dogood#fundraising 👨🏻🌾👩🏻🌾
Loko, 29, carries firewood to sell (Ethiopia). She is responsible for a family of eight, and struggles to feed them all. She works long hours gathering and chopping firewood on her own up a mountain; a hard, dangerous job that she dreads.
‘I do it so I don’t have to sit and face my children crying, weeping, and yelling when they have nothing to eat. My hope for the future and for my children rests in God.’
Hundee (our partner) carry out community education which has led directly to the traditional authorities creating three new laws which will transform women like Loko’s lives: No FGM; no child marriage and no excessive drinking. They have also helped the community identify the poorest women and give them cows and goats. Moreover, they set up self-help groups for these women who then meet once a week, and help them to borrow money to start up small businesses.
F U L L C I R C L E / Almost 30 years ago, my father made a #pilgrimage from Dubai to the Vatican as part of a promise he had made to God when he was very young. The story goes that in a moment of deep yearning, my father (who was orphaned as a teenager) realizing he would have to make it in the world all alone, prayed AND confronted God. He challenged God to "make me a man who can stand on my own two feet and I will travel to St. Peter's Basilica and pay homage to you." (Saint Peter was a disciple of #jesuschrist and the apostle after whom my father is named)
Some 20 years since that prayerful confrontation, after leaving India for Dubai, making an honest living, marrying the love of his life and having two children (along the way surviving two serious car accidents, one which left him bedridden for 6 months), he decided it was time to make good on his promise.
It was the late 1980s and upon landing in Rome, he headed straight to the Papal Basilica in the hopes of attending a Mass by the #pope (then Saint John Paul II). Turns out this was the season when the Pope went on his annual vacation. So there was no Papal Mass. Instead he came back with (hundreds!) of blessed medallions, postcards and Italian comic books (I still have them). But the most cherished gift was a beautiful piece of handpainted paper, inscribed with his name and a Papal blessing (pictured in the background).
Many, many years later, #popefrancis came to the UAE in a historic visit as part of the #yearoftolerance . Not only was my father finally able to attend a #papalmass in the land that gave him a chance to make a life, but a blessed memento travelled all the way from the #vatican to #dubai intended for me. 🙆🏽♀️
Yesterday, I was surprised to receive a beautifully engraved medal, blessed by @franciscus ; a gift and token of thanks from the Vatican for my communications advisory work towards the #uaepapalvisit . Truly, life does come #fullcircle ! 🙏🏽 @uaetolerance
Believe in your self.
Feel like your chest closing on you. Breathing gets hard minute by minute. Don't know how to describe this. Wanna cry , shout and laugh in the same moment. Don't know what to do. Well here's a few things you might want to do: (1) take out that book you keep high on the shelf. Yeah man I am talking about THE HOLY QUR'AN. Read it. Live it. Find your query in it.
(2) Pull you your sleeves. Do wazu. Have a talk with you friend, your guardain ALLAH. Cry like a little kid in front of Him. Wanna laugh do it during your Dua Allah's not gonna judge you like these multi-faced humans(lol)
(3) Wanted to do something for quite long. Wanted to go for a walk , wanna bake a cake , wanna do something crazy or childish ho for it man, you own your life. Not the nextdoor aunty.
In the end just know that you are GREAT. Never feel useless Allah created you for a reason and you will full fill it soon. Make yourself so capable that you're not an option for anyone but people are options for you.😎 #hope#hopeful#bebold#beyourself#believeinyourself#dogood#striveforgreatness#newchapters
