I think I have a new favourite lunch spot in Cardiff 😍
I picked up this halloumi salad from @sagedelicardiff today and it was so delicious! They have such a good variety of salads to go into their salad boxes, the sandwiches sound incredible (I’ll definitely be back to try one soon) and they do fruit salad which has all of the best fruits in it! If you’re based in Cardiff you need to pop into the market and give them a try
Join us in wishing @trailsntribulations good luck as she starts her PCT journey this weekend! She’ll be attempting to hike from Mexico to Canada (2,650 miles) in about 5 months all with Body Glide along for the trip! She has also partnered with @thecairnproject who helps expand outdoor access for girls and young women. You can support her journey at the link in our bio. #repost#dailyglide

I was raised by a woman who was not biologically related to me; her name was Estrella. She was a Filipino woman who had HEART. She accepted me as her own as well as my brothers. She wasn’t able to bear children of her own... so I’m nothing if not grateful for how loving that woman was to me.
She had a work ethic that I can’t even witness anywhere else today. She was a registered nurse that worked two jobs in Chicago. She raised me since I was an infant, put me through private school as an adolescent and accepted me even as a moody teenager.
She suffered with colon cancer when I was around 8 years old and I remember visiting her in the hospital after surgery. It was a successful surgery. 10 years later, she was retired and we were living in sunny ‘ol California and cancer hit again... this time around metastasizing.
During my senior yr of high school I would drive her to her chemo sessions. I remember her being so sick that she she couldn’t stomach anything... constantly in pain.
For the longest and even sometimes to this day I feel shame and guilt for going back home to Chicago to visit while she was going through chemo therapy. While I was visiting Chicago she passed away January 28, 2012..
I remember as a kid, she’s the one who paid for my braces and took me to my initial appointment. She said “When I’m gone you’ll see your straight teeth and will remember me”. She was Right. I am reminded of her every time I smile 🙏🏽
I remember her telling me she’d always wanted to be a hairstylist and open up her own beauty parlor but her parents wouldn’t allow her (Filipino parents lol). So that’s why she became a nurse. She always told me to be what I wanted to be because she didn’t want me to resent her. She supported my every move.
I miss you more than anything Ma. I wish you could be present for my future endeavors, but I know you’ll be watching right over me. Rest peacefully Ma. 💛

✨ As a yoga teacher + writer with a non-traditional work schedule more often than not I find myself running around Manhattan (and lately Williamsburg + Hoboken too 😂) at all hours of the day.
I always keep a @kindsnacks in my bag at all times as a midday snack option 😍 I can go from fine to hangry and woozy REAL fast 🙈 (just ask Jeremy). These bad boys are my go to snack and if you are nice, I’ll share… maybe. Bonus points for having 5 grams of sugar,.
Anyone else always got a snack in their bag 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️ I swear it’s a total lifesaver on crazy days!
~You never know what is really going on in someones life behind closed doors~
That has been something I have been thinking a lot about lately. When I am seeing and dealing with people and they have a sad empty look in their eyes it always makes me wonder 'what is really going on?'. What is causing the behaviors that come across as horrible, mean, rude? Are they hurting💔? Are they being abused? We will never know everyone's story but I do try and help my kids (and remind myself) understand that when someone is doing something wrong it is probably their hurt showing.
Let us show love ❤ and compassion as much as possible but remember that boundaries too keep ourselves as healthy as possible are absolutely necessary. 💋
(image clearly not taken today: today it’s storm Hannah day 🌬 not lean-back-let-the-sun-kiss-your-skin day!!! 😆)
However, I chose this image because this is what I left behind when I moved to the UK 10 years ago. Cyprus,360 sunny days GUARANTEED! ☀️☀️☀️ ‘Why on Earth did you leave Cyprus to live in England?’ is my most FAQ! 😄
I woke up this morning, gave thanks to life for leaving in a peaceful country, got dressed to impress (GroovyGlutes T-shirt!) and attended a workshop on financing options for business growth (yes, we are growing and expanding🏅) Now, I should mention that besides only one attendant, the rest of us were foreigners. Each of us has built a business in a country that’s not our own, and are ready to expand. I’ve signed up for more biz workshops (still free!). These fantastic opportunities for personal and business growth, we foreigners seem to spot more easily, because we don’t have them in our all-year-round-holiday-weather countries. 🙃🏖
I left the workshop feeling high in life. On my way home I came across another super interesting lunch talk. Yes, regular Friday lunch talks everyone! Free to anyone (thank you Watershed). More start-ups were hot-desking next door... Every desk an idea 💡 manifesting into a business... There’s just so much happening, so much opportunity, I can only but LOVE living in the UK. 🙏☺️
Did I mention, yesterday I received good news that GroovyGlutes has been qualified to receive a GRANT to fully support the development of our website for the new GG instructors’ portal! 👏👏👏🏅
I walked up Park Street with the rain falling sideways, the kind of rain you know you using your umbrella ☔️ is pointless. My clothes are soaking wet. My hair is now a lion’s mane. I’m wearing three layers and it’s the end of April. And I’m still high on life!.. This constant opportunity for GROWTH is what I left the sunshine behind for. And I never looked back either🤘!
(but if Cyprus 🇨🇾 is on your list to visit, I’ll give you some hot tips!) 😚🏖🏖🏖
