Haven’t been on for a few days. Been spending time with my hubby’s family. They were home for a weeks holiday. Daves Sister lives in the Isle of Man. It’s a tiny Island in the Irish Sea. It’s a 7 hour drive and 4 hour boat crossing away. We haven’t seen them for a few years. It’s been Great to watch the bond between Mia and her cousin grow. They were inseparable this weekend. Hopefully it’s not years before we see them again.
So it’s safe to say that I haven’t done much workouts and my nutrition has been a bit off. Back in it tomorrow #lgacountability#tiuteam#lgcommunity#tiudoeslg#fitover40#tiu#lgsisters@toneitup@laurengleisberg
what i’ve learned is that in order to live your best life you must practice being able to be flexible and good at change. my life changed last year and i’m still adjusting.
nothing stays the same, so if your life looks gloomy and dark, it will change - and if your life is full of rainbows & sunshine - it will also change.
Easter Blessings my friends
the boys and i just went for a nice walk while reflecting on the overwhelming goodness of God
No time to go soft. Muscular tension creates joint stability and serves as a massive benefit to our training in the long term. Full body muscular tension takes time and practice to build strength to maintain position without compromise. Use the body clock to fight fatigue with every second of every round and build the necessary strength to hold your position. It's a nice little challenge once round clockwise once round anti clockwise is one set. Aim for 60 secs of time under tension. Just add push ups when that becomes easy.
Yoga is for every bunny 🐰.
I’ve never been the yoga type but this feels good to stretch & release the things that no longer serve you.
I love these programs they truly have something for everyone. .
Getting a workout in before the 🐣festivities begin
Sometimes self-care isn't doing the obvious thing.
I felt really down in the dumps this morning. I couldn't get going. I was frozen. I was in pain. I was sitting in the garden and just thinking of everything that needed to be done. And I just couldn't. I was upset, enough so that I was snappy at my lovely other half. His crime? Asking me a question. I cried after cos I felt so bad about it.
I went back to bed. It felt like the safe option. But I didn't stay. I refused to accept that that was the best way to spend my day. I took a breath in and got up. Dragged my feet to the garden shed to start making the insect hotel. Found the Finnish garden/summer cottage game Mölkky and just had to play a round of it. My darling other half obliged, bless him.
That was all I needed. Some goofing around, just the two of us. After that I was set for the rest of the day and managed to finish building the 5* insect hotel. A little helper assisted me a bit and both boys were out playing football while I was putting the hotel together.
It's the evening now, boys are watching The Grand Tour and I'm sitting here being thankful for the lovely day I had. I'm still in pain, but so happy I didn't stay in bed.
I hear so many people say “IF I WEIGHED “X”lbs. I WOULD BE HAPPY/CONFIDENT/SECURE/etc.”. Well I hate to break it to you - but reaching a certain number on the scale isn’t going to make everything better. Yeah, it will make you fit into clothes better or maybe you will feel lighter - but happiness and esteem is an inside job and NO NUMBER ON THE SCALE will give you enough validation. Work on YOU and appreciate YOU for who you are TODAY. Be happy for the little things today and celebrate your life each day. The rest will come naturally.....#failingforward#womensgym#fitover40#apexnc#carync#fuquayvarina#gnc#planetfitness#lifetimefitness#doglover#menopauseweightloss
Many people try for 1,2, 5 years or more to transform their bodies⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
More often than not it is without success⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But it’s not for the want of trying⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Every diet possible, following conventional advice or the latest Facebook Live Guru or Insta-PT⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then eventually all roads lead to an expert or system that finally works and creates change never before imagined⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This transformation took 10 months and was worth every single day of effort 💃⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#repost@saltylifts@get_reposter ⚡️The Secret Behind Losing Fat⚡️True story: I used to start my day either excited/motivated or depressed/defeated all because of a number I saw on the scale each morning.
I guess I let it control me & dictate my worth. Yet, little did I know that "weight loss" isn't always a useful marker of progress. Reason being, there's a ton of things that can influence daily & weekly body weight...
🍕 A higher salt or carb intake than normal
💩 If you haven't pooped
💦 Hydration levels
🥘 Food still in your stomach
😷 Food intolerances
💁 If you have your period
🏋️♀️ Soreness from a heavy/intense workout
Once I understood that the scale is just a tool, but not the *only* tool, I felt relieved and started to see the fluctuations in my scale weight as just a series of data points, rather than a reflection of my worth or hard work.
You guys... fat loss takes TIME. Like weeks and months. I know, it's not what you wanted to hear, but it's the truth. And it's important to recognize and be aware of so you don’t get frustrated and quit.
Weight loss & fat loss are related, but they are NOT the same thing. Instead of focusing on the scale to know if you're progressing, focus on other things like:
👗How clothes fit
💥Your energy levels
📊An average of your weight over the course of a few weeks/months
⠀ 🌟It's easier said than done, but try not to let your daily/weekly fluctuations in body weight discourage you. Progress is not linear and it does NOT reflect your fat loss progress. So, stay positive, smile, put on your patience pants 👖and just be consistent. You will get there, I promise!!
