As far as the aesthetics go #instaxmini90neo 📷 by @fujifilm_global is the best looking #instax out there (in my opinion 😉). It reminds me of my dad’s old camera that he used to take family photos when I was a kid. .
Since we as a society started using digital cameras and phones to take out pictures we really stop and think about the picture we take. Normally we take a few and pick the best one. Here, I was really encouraged to stop and think about the light, angles and setting to get it right the first time. .
There is also the #anticipation factor that really takes me back to my childhood. We never had the #polaroidcamera but as I mentioned we did have the traditional film camera and I do get a bit nostalgic when I hold those old photos that my dad took of me and my siblings. There was just something beautiful in taking the film to have it developed. I get a similar feeling when I hold the photo made by my Instax and wait to see if it came out right. .
Another thing I noticed is that I treasure the pictures more. How often you take a picture with the phone and forget about it? I made an instax picture collage in my room and I do look at them and smile every time! .
As far as downsides go I can name two: cost of use and picture quality. When you buy Instax you have to account that it will require constant repurchases of film. You get ten pictures per pack so you need to think when you want to use it. Also don’t expect amazing picture quality. The size and resolution of the picture is relatively small but I see it as a fun thing to do. That’s why I make sure I have it when I’m out and about with family and friends.
