Just Remember that:

#people see what they wish. We look for confirmation of what we already believe, and it's hard to break free of that.
But being able to face a truth we don't want to believe is part of being truly #free. To face opposition without fear, to put aside our own #wants and evaluate #ideas that may destroy our most ingrained #beliefs.
So many have posted this #motivational picture. Those with more understanding of the #wild will question it.
But it's not true. It simply reinforces some wishes, maybe kind ones, but ultimately it's a #lie. And how can we move forward by lying to one another? What else did they lie about? If they lie, can I trust their #judgement in what is good?
Sometimes it is simply #manipulation. We need to be truthful with one another.
You can check this online. I tell my #students, the people I lead or #mentor to check out what I say. Blind #trust, if ever given, should be earned by verification. I don't trust anyone that much, especially myself.

But Snopes is biased too, although it seems closer to the truth than the popular explanation.
Also: I don't look to animal behavior for how to be a #human. I look at the best humans, in my opinion of course. Bias? Yes, but at least not making up wishful #wolf stories.
Give it some thought.
And go see if I told the #truth. Verify.

SHOES vs. FEET
Reflecting back on an amazing seminar with @thefootcollective over the weekend and we landed on a few take-home points:
1️⃣ The footwear industry is weird!
The widest part of the human foot is (/should be) at the toes. The narrowest part of almost every shoe is... the toes! 👠 A strong, mobile, wide foot increases surface area = better balance & movement control!
2️⃣ Look upstream!
Foot pain is not always caused by “issues” with the foot. The hips have a massive role to play when it comes to gait (running/walking) and movement mechanics. Knees always diving in uncontrollably while squatting? Sure, it could be a foot issue... but let’s make sure we address the body holistically!
3️⃣ Feet are sensors!
Feet are designed to give us feedback from the ground beneath us. Shoes were initially designed to protect our skin from puncture wounds. Over the centuries, they have evolved to be so protective that we no longer have the same ability to use our feet as sensors. Think of it this way: to protect our eyes from the sun, we wear sunglasses (not blindfolds)! Getting used to less “protective” shoes can be powerful!
⚠️ This is by no means a public services announcement to burn all of your narrow-toed, high-heeled shoes. Just simply to start a conversation about what we are wearing on our feet and how those choices are potentially impacting our day-to-day function...
Ankle dorsiflexion (toes to shins) limiting your deep squat? Sure, working on ankle mobility drills for 5 mins before your WOD may help... but weaning off the high-heels that keep you in plantar flexion (toes pointed) for 8 hours each day is likely the low-hanging fruit that has a much more immediate impact!
