For 25+ years my #1 bucket list item was to see the northern lights. -
I saw them for the first time a few years ago and instead of taking all the bomb photos I thought I would take I sat on the ground and drank whiskey and cried. I have no regrets.
Tonight I got my second chance at the photography part. I still drank whiskey and cried but this time I actually managed to take some pictures.
This is far from the best northern lights photo in the world but it happened with some good friends in a beautiful place and tonight I'm really freaking happy. And won't be able to sleep. -
Nature is so freaking rad you guys. Go see it. 🤘🤘
The northern lights aren't quite as bright under a full moon but I love the way the moon illuminates the snowy landscape 🌔❄️✨It's almost like getting to see the aurora in the daytime - or as close as we can get. Not going to lie, I also feel better about standing alone in the middle of nowhere with my tripod when the moon is out to light my way #scaredofthedark Would you prefer to see the northern lights on a really dark night or when they're softened by moonlight?
