Nobody sees the late nights that we spend writing. Nobody sees the self doubt we all feel from time to time. There's a reason musician's on the same grind have such close friendships. We get each other's struggles right away. It's like looking at a mirror and you instantly have a deep connection with that person. Playing festivals and shows with a bunch of your friends is one of the raddest things ever, and I love having so many allies in this battle! Cheers to the homies!
(20/28) ZUU Music - ‘Untitled’ | Unreleased 2019 | My passion for real instrumentation never goes away. We are fortunate to have an upright piano in our house so recently I took to writing a track around it. On this demo I am playing: Drums, Bass, Piano & Synths and my housemate is on Sax. Very organic and deep sounding groove. Really hoping to get the finished song out on a label this year! #everyday

Quirky punk band SWMRS return with their sophomore effort, ‘Berkeley’s On Fire’, and while the opening title track is overly exaggerated and obtuse, the following ‘Too Much Coffee’ and ‘Trashbag Baby’ are blend of Weezer and Death Cab For Cutie, with bounding guitar and pounding drumbeats. ‘Lose Lose Lose’ brings back their whackier side among echoing melody, while ‘Lonely Ghost’ employs classic surf-rock. While the album retains much of the same elements in each track, it’s an exploration of trademark American styles - there’s punk rock, Americana, thrasher, stoner rock, lo-fi garage, even a splash of old school hip-hop on ‘Steve Got Robbed’. With their own take on the genres, the Cali outfit have executed the “difficult” second album with ease.
