For Mother’s Day, Susan asked for two extra hours in every day for the next year, with option to renew next Mother’s Day. She didn’t get it. But she’s been stealing about that much every day for a week or so now to teach herself to render in 3d for SYI clients. If the millennials are doing it why can’t we? Y’all are going to love this. #neverstoplearning#itsactuallykindafun#whatsnottoloveabout3d

Doporučuji Ti měsíční zkušební verzi LinkedIn Learning zcela zdarma. Díky moc, LinkedIn, byl to velmi užitý měsíc. Ta nabídka kurzů je fakt bombastická!
Nejvíc mě zaujal kurz "Time Management Fundamentals" od #davecrenshaw .
Tři fajn a produktivní otázky:
1. Co je ohledně tohoto další krok?
2. Kdy to udělám?
3. Kam tato věc patří?
A ohledně Course Clubu pak byl super "Creativity Bootcamp". Těším se na nové kurzy tento měsíc. Vždy na kvartál totiž pro všechny odemykají tři kurzy nejžádanějších soft skills. Mrkni. #linkedinlearning#linkedin#lyndadotcom
Do I need another certification? (If you’re a DC dietitian, come to our networking event April 4th to chat about this - link below👇) ⠀
Whether you’re a "veteran" dietitian, a newly credentialed dietitian, or a dietitian-to-be, at one point many of us had a "should have" or "could have" [insert additional credential] moment. The world of food and wellness is rapidly changing and sometimes we find ourselves feeling unprepared for all the opportunities presented to us now.⠀
What is the best way to keep up with those changes - is the answer to go back to school, take up additional certificates? What are low-cost alternatives to building new skills to take on new opportunities?⠀
I started my career with an RD credential and then went back to school for my MPH after a few years. This gap gave me time to evaluate what skills would complement my professional goals. Still, I ended up getting a concentration in policy and haven't used it - but overall I'm happy with my MPH decision. I took some elective marketing classes that have proved to be really valuable.⠀
I've since gotten all of my additional learning from short courses or free resources online or around DC. I've honed my design skills through DesignLab, marketing at General Assembly MeetUps, WordPress/website development from Lynda dot com, and digital marketing from HubSpot. ⠀
I'm a firm believer in seeking education when there's a clear ROI. I considered a big certification in digital marketing but had to be honest with myself - how many of my clients really care about that, and what will it add to my skills? I focus now on learning new skills as I need them and using client demand to drive my learning.⠀
What’s your story? Comment below to share your thoughts. And if you’re in the DC area next Thursday, join the DC Dietitians for a free networking event where this will be the topic of discussion! Details and RSVP here: bit.ly/dcrdapril2019⠀
Takin’ it mobile.
When you have to work, but your kid needs physical therapy. I’m mobile office(ing), literally. Knocking out an After Effects course while I wait for my first conference call. 🤣
