Wow, life definitely comes at you fast. The past 24 hours have been about as crazy as it gets, but an absolute reminder to look on the bright side. Coming home from school yesterday my son and I were in a car accident (everyone is okay, no one was hurt thankfully, only my car took a pretty major beating!) Normally I would be so upset about my car, and it totally sucks but the thing is.. we got into an accident on the highway on-ramp. Had we been even just a few yards further along and going full-speed this all could have had a very different outcome. All I have been able to think since the moment it happened is “oh my gosh, I’m so glad it happened here and not a little further ahead.” My car is totaled and I’ve spent what feels like days on the phone with the insurance companies getting things sorted out but I’ve got this really weird feeling of gratitude that you would exactly expect to have after a car accident. Maybe I’m just rambling but I truly believe there is a glimmer of hope in every situation, no matter how bad it seems. We’ve always got to find that bright side. ✨ (Photo by @brittanyviklund)
Viaduct custom order- complete! If you are a Seattleite, you know why a customer wanted to commemorate this waterfront landmark. There was a lot of trial and error as I worked my way through the piece, but I’m proud of how it turned out. Looking forward to expanding these ideas and stitching more hoops like this!
Back in the day when my creative juices were flowing. ...2 years ago in fact I MADE this. Yup. 34 inches tall and total cost was only $10! Honestly, i think it's prettier than the small ones you get in store.🤷♀️ Who here remembers?🙋♀️ Stem, lemons, pot, were all from #michaels. (I used 50% off coupons) Moss, rocks, glue sticks, were from #dollartree. But ASK me where these are at now. (I made two.😩) I will be attempting to make another, similar one to fit the tone of my bright azz kitchen. 😆😎💯 #farmhouseglam#whitekitchen
I’m still playing around with the Iris dress pattern...the back of the dress doesn’t make me 100% happy yet. I’m going to have to make a second dress before I finalize the pattern and send it off to pattern testers. I want it to be a little more bodycon and I think I’m going to add a zipper to the back to do that. Have you ever added zippers to crochet items?
Sick in bed today...I’ve come down with an icky cold so I’ll be alternating between downing tea, working on my sweater, and sleeping. 🤧
Both of the pouches are listed in the shop, and the Oso beanie pattern and finished items are as well!
Thank you for paying me...I’m on the couch all day healing from some dental work that i finally started last night which I’ve been needing for years and finally saved up the money for! (Every penny is from Queens Knits) #gotabagandfixedmyteeth#hopeyouhoesknowitaintcheap
We're in the middle of February recess today and it's been every bit of winter here lately❄️ it's right in the depths of February that the rare appearance of sunshine & bitter temps start to get me down and my vitamin D dosage goes up - so I'm fluffin up the nest with a little bit of springtime with $2 tulips from @michaelsstores that I got in my travels yesterday - they had so many different colors! 🌷💗🌷💗🌷 how is winter treating you all & do you take vitamin D on the regular?! Happy Wednesday friends! #madewithmichaels
Watercolor is funny. It’s kind of like inverse sketching. Instead of making lines to distinguish the shape, you’re leaving white spaces to show detail. The two important elements are its shape and its negative space. That’s what makes a lemon a lemon and not a blob. There’s not a ton of layering either so you have to try to achieve everything at once. If you darken while it’s still wet, you get a nice blended look. Once it’s dry (less than a minute after you start) it doesn’t look so great. So if you’re like, this watercolor thing is tricky, you’re right! It’s super tricky. But there’s nothing else like it and once you learn the tricks of the trade, the possibilities are endless. #dailyfloralpainting
CRAFT: This week's Use Your Cricut IG promot is MUSIC. My taste in music 🎶 is very eclectic. I love everything from country to rock to musicals. I can belt out the oldies like I lived them. For this challenge and created a print and cut file that can be used to upcycle an old breath mint box into a 🎧🎵 headphones case! Check it out #ontheblog!
As much as I don’t want time to fly by I’m ready for Spring to get here. Lil man is starting to get cabin fever and all we want to do is just play outside, go on our walks to the park and pull out the baby pool. Bring on the green grass, blooming flowers and sunshine! ☀️🌺

Boracay was a dream 🏝 although the travel was tiring, it was so worth it once we were there. I'd seriously consider going again in the future.. but Lena is proving to be just as energetic as her Ate Sophia and Ate Sam 🙈 #offthewalls
Changing gears a wee bit here... if you’re not following the #28februaryflowers hosted by @amanda_evanston , let me tell you... you are missing out on some spectacular work by really inspiring artists! I couldn’t help myself ... I’ve been dreaming of painting thick textured expressive florals and just went for it last night. Here’s another version of ‘fireweed’ a flower that instantly makes me think of childhood and spending time in Alaska and northern BC. Something so special about flowers. Check out a few of my fave artists rocking amazing florals right now: @rachels_shoppe@firstname.lastname@example.org@kelleewynnestudios and of course Amanda herself!
