I was born on the sea, with boats being a familiar sight, but I was surprised when I saw how the boats in Palawan were constructed.
Island hopping is an activity every tourist does in Palawan. You get on a boat with a group and they take you to places where you can dive, snorkel and explore. While you’re having lunch on the boat, (in the middle of nowhere 😁) it’s very likely that a guy selling chips and drinks will row towards your boat and offer you snacks. Very convenient in my opinion 😎 And yeah, there’s a barbecue on the boat 👌🏽 What’s interesting is that the waters where those ships take tourists are shallow. That’s why the ships need to be built in a way to be able to access the shallow drop off points like reefs. To keep the balance and not flip over, the ship is wide and the construction is made of bamboo. It’s very interesting how they tie the knots in order to connect the parts. I only remember one knot that our boat captain showed me. 👨🏻✈️😛 Have you ever seen similar constructions? And have you been to Palawan? Did you like the island hopping? Let me know down in the comments 💪🏽
