Yal don’t understand how early it was drilled in my head .. my auntie Sandy -a huge reason I GOTTA do dis would recite to me EVERY SINGLE DAY “where you gonna go when u grow up” me: “HOLLYWOOD” .. her : “WHAT U GONNA BE?!” ... me: “ A STAR” ! this deeper than you mfs think fr and it hurts every day I can’t give her that vision full circle , so many reasons on top of that it’s #nonnegotiable 😩‼️ I’ve come a long way since this lil girl and BEEN in this entertainment shit .. I’m comin for it viciously and with NO MERCY AT ALL 😈 #story#star#hollywood#destiny#journey#singer#songwriter
Are you devoting time to things you proactively WANT to do or are you being reactive that time is passing by.
Majority of us are being reactive, it is a fact. We respond to emails, calls and texts and dms like no tomorrow. We scroll social media mindlessly. We never used to scroll through teletext or wait by the corded telephone.......go figure.
You do not need to be constantly monitoring your digital life because you are devoting time to things that may not serve you in the highest form. And it is definitely taking energy away from things that you want to do but have no time.
I've been there: I wanted to meditate before bed but I found myself scrolling on IG and realised that why am I putting crap into my conscious just before bed...? That doesn't serve me, so I have stopped doing that and adopted better sleep hygiene.
One step at a time, no one is perfect.
Repeat after me: "I am learning to use my time as perfectly as I can for me. To do the things I want to do. I am allowed to say NO to the things that I do not want to do." Do things that serve you, from managing the stress from your hectic and busy day, getting out of the soul sucking relationship you are in, losing the weight you want to lose, but have been too busy people pleasing and not putting yourself first.
1.Set your goals.
2.Make it non-negotiable.
3.Schedule the time into your diary.
5.Watch the transformation.
If you need help with achieving your goals but cannot devote the time to it. Call me and I will show you it is possible!
Identify your non-negotiables. One of mine is not having the life I envisioned for myself. This is my focus and is the reason why I make the decisions I make. .
What is one of your non-negotiables?
Is it dramatic to say that I couldn’t LIVE without my chocolate shake? I spend most days either working my full-time job or hustling my business, so I absolutely need a source of healthy energy I know will provide me with my nutritional needs. For me, it’s non-negotiable! What can’t you live without?
We all prioritize what’s most important to us. When we say we don’t have time, we’re really saying it’s not a priority. So are you prioritizing what’s most important to you?? I know I need to prioritize a few things a little differently, but I also refuse to compromise my time doing what makes me a better person. That meant hitting the grocery store at 8 pm and meal prepping for the rest of the week of my reset and cleaning up until 10:30 pm. I still have to shower and I have one more load of laundry drying at 11:06 pm. My bed is calling, but my new shirts for the book fair are in there so I have to wait so I will be ready for the rest of the week! We’ll see if I can make it until they dry. 🤦♀️😴

IF: -you need to get serious about your goals
-you’re tired of living a mediocre lifestyle
-you’re ready to BUILD YOUR MACHINE
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned since starting this quest to get and stay healthy is this:
KEEP IT SIMPLE.
Silly that we don’t, right?
Life is busy.
After teaching for 15 years, I’ve learned over and over that I MUST keep my habits simple if I’m going to be successful at maintaining my health. Seriously, if it’s too complicated...I end up giving up. I mean, my brain is ALREADY too full.
I had to get serious & give myself a bit of a loving lecture about what exactly I was willing to really commit to...like close to 100%. It had to be simple.
My daily simple commitments:
✔️ daily 30-minute workout at home
✔️ using a straightforward nutrition plan
✔️ enjoying a superfood smoothie for lunch
And guess what?!
✨Building a solid commitment to these 3 things has led to so many other areas of my life being more committed too.✨
• dedicated daily devotion & reflection time
• more intentional use of finances
• many more freshly home cooked meals
• better use of time at school & in afternoons
• staying away from the million treats at work
Who knew that getting life simplified in a few areas would bleed over into the rest?? 🙌🏼🙌🏼
✨What areas of your life have you simplified & committed to lately? How has it changed things for you?? ✨
I WOKE UP TODAY, DECIDING TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE DAY.
I’m telling you, nothing feels good than already smashing your workout before work and doing whatever the fck after.
Pushing my workouts until 10pm was beginning to make it unenjoyable and harder to wake up in the mornings. I felt like I was losing more daylight, I didn’t enjoy dinner with my fam (knowing I had to work out after) and couldn’t squeeze in the extra things I wanted to do. It was draining.
And probably that is why most of us fall of track bc we don’t take control of our day. We let it control us. It’s given, something will happen during the day, but preparing for the day and setting a set time to work out is crucial. If you want to stay on track and remain consistent, pencil in your workout and make it a non-negotiable. You have goals to slay, babe.
As a mom on the go, I'm ALL ABOUT POCKETS.
I dont carry a purse.
My "diaper bag" is a travel vanity pouch and I only use it seldomly.
I pay with my phone everywhere I go. So I keep my cellphone, a couple credit cards and my keys in my pockets, leaving my hands free to carry my baby.
I dont buy pants without em.
These pocket leggings are some of my new favorites. Buttery soft fabric, just the right amount of compression and of course, pockets. Plus I've always loved anything in this gorgeous forest/olive color. Brings out my eyes 🤩 Click shop link in bio to get yours.
Do some days just kind of slip by and you don’t know how it’s already evening and you did not get done what you needed to get done? Your ‘to do’s’ just roll over to the next day and the next day... How can you take charge? .
Identify your non negotiables! What are your priorities and the tasks that will get done that day? Priorities and non negotiables mean, they take the front seat. Before you check Facebook, or reorganize your underwear drawer (procrastination) you get the main ticket items done! And that is not a maybe, that’s a non negotiable. .
And non negotiables can be ‘spending time with family’ or ‘self care’ or ‘finishing the big project for work’. Take charge by being organized and clear on your daily priorities and treat those accordingly.
Run your day.
This technique helps me tremendously especially with a three months old around. I pick one mayor task I want to get done and I will focus on that between diaper changes, cuddles and nap times. #nonnegotiable#plan#takecharge#stayontop#organized#schedule#life#lifestyle
These two things I have decided are non-negotiables for me! They are part of my everyday routine and when I don't utilize them I definitely feel "off" 😳
🌻 I have less cravings, less bloating, & just feel more energized with a clearer head when I get my daily shake. I have been drinking these since November & they have been a game-changer in the health department for me🙏
🌻 Also, call me a hippie✌🏻 but PD has really helped get my mindset to a better place. Whether it is how I feel about myself or how I hustle building my business it has lead me to a healthier and happier place emotionally and mentally💜
I challenge you to dive into some PD even if you think it is some psycho mumbo jumbo, cuz girlfriend I did to at one point. But I bet you will be surprised at how it can help change your attitudes, beliefs, and mindset😊
Also, I'm always looking for suggestions so if you have some drop 'em below😘
Close your eyes.
Imagine the life that you would create for yourself if there was NOTHING holding you back.
Now, compare that to the current reality you are living in. Do they align at all?
You see, we make a lot of excuses for ourselves. We excuse away the life that we are unhappy living because “what other choice do we have?” Today, I want to tell you that YOU HAVE A CHOICE! What you’ve been taught to accept as your reality is NOT the only option for your life. We have the power to prioritize what truly matters, and it all starts with creating NON-NEGOTIABLES!
The thing about creating non-negotiables is that you are no longer trying to fit your ideals into your life. You are creating your life around what matters most to you.
You are deciding that everything you do will be in an effort to prioritize the things you are not willing to sacrifice.
What if you stopped wondering, wishing, hoping, and dreaming about a different life? What if you stopped accepting the lie that you can’t have or don’t deserve your deepest desires? What if you diligently took action towards your non-negotiables every single day?
The truth is, non-negotiables are not just goals or dreams. They are not “what if” questions, or cool ideas, or distant longings. They are the TOP priorities in your life.
Here’s the thing: we have the power to sit back, wish, wait, and dream all day, every day, without ever taking action towards our deepest desires. In fact, society gives us permission to live that kind of life. BUT, we also have the powerful opportunity to pursue what matters most to us.
Ask yourself everyday, “does this support the life I’m trying to create?” Your dreams are YOUR responsibility. Be empowered by knowing that you are in control of your own life. Think about the dreams you have inside of you. Then, consider how it would feel and how things would look if you made them non-negotiables.
You have to see it. It has to be so clear that you can’t imagine your life looking any other way.

I keep reminding myself of a great metaphor that @glennondoyle uses in her "Love Warrior" book that I shared in Saturdays #selfcarepairings. She writes..."Crisis comes from the word meaning to sift. Let it all fall away and you'll be left with what matters."
"I will let myself be like a child at the beach who digs in the sand and lifts her sieve out in front of her, watching the sand fall away and hoping that treasure will be left."
I've had to sift through many different aspects of my life in the past 8 years that I've been living on my own. The few things that are left behind, the things that matter the most to me, are:
These are my priorities, period. When I feel rejected by other people, compare myself to other professionals, and feel like a I haven't accomplished anything...I remember that I have my health, I have my amazing friends and family, I have the freedom to be me in my business, and I am going on adventures regularly. That is what really matters.
For you, you may be in the thick of it...feeling alone, feeling like a burden to others, like nobody listens to you, like you don't deserve to be healthy, you don't deserve a raise or appreciation. And it's okay, sift all of this negative juju off and find what really matters in your life...what are those treasures for you?
If you were to sift through your life to shake away the things that don't matter, to pin point exactly what is left behind, what are those things?

@drrupawong You have beautifully demonstrated the new normal with your photo. Thank you so much for sharing it! It’s 5am and I’m about to get on my bike that sits in our closet!!! I avoided getting one fo so long because of the expense and fear that it would become a clothes hanger, but it has become one of my favorite things because I can work out in the morning and, as opposed to being at the gym, I can see my kiddo for an extra hour every morning while I get ready for the day. It’s absolutely priceless time with him that I’ve been able to have, while maintaining my sense of self and regaining my confidence in my new postpartum skin. Bonus is that my now 22 month old is able to climb up to the handle bars all by himself and says “mama bike”, which sometimes is a bit scary admittedly. (Crazy video of us dancing on the bike to come soon.) I hope that seeing his mamma having dedicated work out time will encourage my little man to be active as he grows and shows him that self care is important. #thedoctormoms#rolemodel#fitdoc#onepeloton#surgeonmama#selfcare#nonnegotiable ......................... You know that Peloton commercial with the woman riding her bike in the middle of her beautiful mid-century modern living room, surrounded by an entire wall of folding glass doors, gazing wistfully into her 2 acre forested backyard? Yeah, that’s not my reality.
My peloton is tucked in the corner of the playroom and the kids are usually arguing around me, or trying to use my hand weights, or just trying to climb on when I ride. Just like this morning. But, I get it done. I connect my air pods and for 30-45 minutes, my kids know it’s “mama time” and I ignore them unless the house is burning down. And, then I’m refreshed and able to be a better mom, since I’m spending a bit of time taking care of myself.
What’s your method of self care?
