With the warmer months just around the corner, Nike has released a new line up of its famed Benassi JDI Slides decked out in summer ready colorways.
The collection includes three options such as a clean white iteration with contrasting blue Nike motif placed on the straps; a fan favorite black-and-white color palette; and finally a vibrant take on the classic silhouette seeing a teal base with black and white straps.
Nike’s Air Force 1 silhouette has stood the test of time with countless remakes. This time around, the classic model receives a revamp centered around “Orange Peel/Opti Yellow” and “Hyper Grape/Active Fuchsia” hues for two separate iterations. While both designs feature leather uppers, the former comes in black for a brighter gradient pop and the latter in grey. The typically leather panel Swoosh gets switched out with fabric, but the usual branding hits on the midsole, tongue tag and heel remain for uniformity.
Reebok has unveiled a slew of new colorways of its Run.r 96 and Sock Run.r silhouettes for Spring/Summer 2019. The two technical sneakers pay homage to retro-futuristic pairs such as the 1996 PUMP EVO prototype, which lends its signature split cushioned sole unit to the two pairs.
Previously releasing in a bright “Carotene/Mist” colorway, the Run.r 96 returns in two new tonal hues which both see pops of neon throughout. “Grey/Blue/Lime” and “Grey/White/Teal/Gold” have joined the lineup, with both featuring complementing cord lock-system laces. Constructed from mesh, the Run.r 96 is complete with rubber paneling and minimalistic branding on the heel cap and lateral heel accent.
The Sock Run.r steps in a bright blue shade of Carotene, contrasting the previously seen royal blue rendition which dropped back in June 2018. The silhouette — which was made popular after a host of Vetements collaborations — maintains its archival influence while adding orange and white stripes to its high-rising sock construction.
Nike has debuted the latest evolution of its performance-orientated Zoom Vaporfly silhouette. Titled the ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT%, the sneaker features a range of upgrades recommended by athletes and experts including long-distance runners Shalane Flanagan, Mo Farah and Eliud Kipchoge.
These new features include a Vaporweave-constructed upper that is more breathable and absorbs less water than Flyknit, a re-tooled midsole with added Nike ZoomX foam and redesigned track pattern, that was suggested by Kipchoge after running in wet conditions. Elsewhere, the ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% also has offset laces for added comfort, a thin foam pod for Achilles support and new contoured treads for supported movement.
As well as the new features, Nike has kept a number of design elements from previous Zoom Vaporfly releases. Stand-out in this is the full-length curved carbon fiber plate which is embedded within the foam and increases propulsion.
Initially teased by Virgil Abloh himself during Coachella, we now have a better look at the latest Off-White™ x Nike collaborative sneaker.
Set to be a woman’s running silhouette, the new kicks feature an entirely unique structure which takes influences from the Nike Air Presto, as seen on the tongue. Unlike the purple and black iteration teased by Virgil, the one seen above is dressed in more subtle colors of white and beige, while neon yellow hits can be found on the laces, toe cap and the exaggerated traction grips on the rubber sole. Some sections of the shoe have also been crafted from what looks to be glow-in-the-dark panels. Finally black Swoosh insignias on both the lateral and medial sides finishes off the overall look of this latest model.
Continuing its running focus, Nike recently gave its sock-like lace-less Nike Free RN Flyknit 3.0 a “Midnight Navy” makeover.
The runner features a navy flexible upper constructed of Flyknit and supportive TPU yarns, supported by a matching stability-focused midfoot strap. Decorative detailing comes in the form of “Volt” hits at the midfoot, light blue Swoosh branding and large pink heel counters. Elevating the shoe is an anatomical shock absorption foam sole unit complete with laser cuts and flex grooves.
