I needed this, this morning. After a long, stressful and emotionally draining week, I needed my rescue family and our dogs and a good laugh early this am. It was cold, the dogs were fairly wild and I of course was awkward when told to act natural for a candid photo but it was good for my heart. Thank you to my team for waking up early to do this with me and to @monicawaynephotography for your generosity sharing your time and talent with others.
My heart is sad this week after losing two Lost Paws/AZK9 unexpectedly and after the roller coaster of Max’s surgery. I will be sharing some more about Ruca and Desi’s passing and updating everyone on Max’s surgery and recovery.
For now, some photos of Rocky and I and of course my rescue family, my favorite people.
Hi everyone! Karma’s letting us write the first post because... she’s been asleep for four hours straight and is crap at using the keyboard. So while we have creative freedom, we wanted her first pictures on Instagram to be the first pictures we took when we met her.
Karma was rescued by the absolutely incredible people at @angelcitypits. She was picked up as a stray and appeared to have been used for fighting (cropped ears/multiple scars) and breeding (she had just had a litter.)
At first, it wasn’t clear if Karma would ever be able to make a full recovery. But just like her idol, @cher, this Dark Lady Believes she’s Strong Enough, Babe. These days, she enjoys meeting new people, falling asleep while standing up, and passing tf out as soon as she sets foot on a couch. We’ll keep you posted on all of Karma’s wild adventures... or maybe just post pictures of her looking weird. 🖤
Today was a bittersweet day, Queenie found her fur-ever home! She started her journey with her new family at about 2:20 this afternoon. I’ll miss her constant hellos, amazing hugs, and hilarious side-eyes as I fill the treat jar and don’t give her one after. Happy tails Queens!
Today I ran through the finish line!🏁 I finished my 6 week step Cardio challenge and seriously blew through that finish line. I have to say of all the programs I’ve completed there was something special about finishing this one..
It’s not about weight loss or even results. It was about linking arms with a group of other women and going into this completely new program together and coming out the other side STRONGER! .
How many of you reading this started the new year vowing to keep your healthy resolutions? I know that feeling of starting strong and then once the newness wears off or “life” happens you slowly slide back into old habits. It’s subtle too! So subtle you almost don’t realize it’s happening until it’s too late. .
Think about those 10 pounds from the holidays you’ve been saying you’re gonna lose. Do you remember when they crept on? Probably not because it happened so slowly and your excuses seemed so valid in the moment..
Being part of the Step it Up group challenge kept me accountable, showed me how to keep showing up no matter what, adjust but give myself grace when needed. .
You want to know why I’m still here 4.5 years after my first program? It’s because of the challenge groups and women who join them! .
Nows your chance to be part of the magic! Next challenge starts Monday! Busy Women Bootcamp! I’m going another round of step! Let’s chat to figure out what’s gonna work best for you! .
You want it? You gotta earn it!
