i’m at a conference this week for work and one of the presenters used the capabilities of 3D printing to illustrate a point he was making. he showed a picture of a prosthetic leg and a child’s heart that had been 3D printed and praised them. he then showed a picture of a 3D printed steak and said ‘and believe it or not, they’re printing steaks! scary, i know’ or something along those lines and got quite a chuckle/murmur of agreement from the audience. this conference has nothing to do with food or animal rights but i was immediately angered at his ‘joke’ and the support for it. here’s why:
🌱the basic flawed logic: you’re ok with 3D printing something as important as a limb or a heart that goes inside your body but you’re scared of eating something 3D printed? 🙄
🌱you’re scared of something that is molecularly identical to steak directly from a cow but not scared of the negative effects that the consumption of animal protein has on most of North American’s bodies? 🌱your presentation was about being innovative to solve big problems but you’re scared of something that could drastically decrease the environmentally devastating effects of animal agriculture?
🌱you’re scared of something that has the potential to save billions of animals from a life of misery and fear? do you think it’s fair to prioritize our own fear and close mindedness at the cost of an incredible amount of other sentient beings’ suffering?
i’m sure he didn’t think too much about his example and something like this is an ‘easy target’ for a laugh/agreement in many circles. i don’t blame him, provided he is willing to listen to another viewpoint, but, for a number of reasons, this week has reinforced my desire to focus my energy on helping animals. 📸: @livekindlyco#littlelightkitchen#friendsnotfood#veganfoodshare#foodblogger#foodblog#whatveganseat#plantbased#veganrecipes#vegansofinstagram#vegan#veganfood#positivity#hope#bestofvegan#vegansofig#veganbaking#veganfortheanimals
Pescatarian pasta from today *drool*. One of the rules I give myself is when I'm out for dinner/lunch/breaky I don't restrict myself from having cheese, eggs and fish. I found when I did before it made me not want to go out and enjoy food with my friends and family. I eat plant based when I cook for myself which is 95% of the time and i'd rather treat myself and enjoy food with others when I'm eating out then feel like I'm missing out. Now I don't eat meat because it honestly grosses me out. And maybe in the future that will be the same with fish, eggs and cheese (tbh right now the medatarian diet would be my diet of chose but ethically I can't justify it 100% of the time, which is why I do treat myself with it sometimes) or maybe it won't but at least I'm doing something to help animals, the environment, our future. Moral of this very long insta post - ☝️ If you can't do big great things (veganism) do small things great (plant based)!! ☺️☺️

Also made up a big pot of no chicken noodle soup to help us feel better. What do you all eat when you're not feeling well? Leave a comment below. Maybe we'll try out your go to feel better foods.

Damn it, Plant Power, it's YOUR fault (#fatvegan#cantjustifythisfinancially) that you're zero minutes off route, and that traffic will move faster if I pull over and wait it out. This is my third time here. We are all waiting, the smart ones are, for your grand opening in Long Beach, just one mile from my house. Damn it, I'm in trouble. Maybe I should apply for a job there. Haha! I haven't worked fast food since I graduated high school. That was a move of sheer desperation. Pretty disgusting. But that was a Burger King! Desperation, like I said. Anyway, I tried to BBQ Burger, and then your signature burger, and right now I am having fish fillet sandwich. @gardein stopped selling fishless fish filets. And I miss them, damn it. But whaddia know, Plant Power's "fish" sammy IS Gardein!
Makes me miss my mommy. Everything makes me miss her, though.
Anywho, I'm a bit of a fatty, but them's the danks!
I wonder if the owner is about my age. Because the music here is always from the 80s! Or older. But the quality stuff.
Oh, the indulgence. I am not safe on my own all the time! 😂
Who is still eating animals and pus and blood?
We're turning 1 tomorrow!
To celebrate, our friends at the Head Over Hooves Farm Rescue will be joining us for lunch with a few of their newest editions to their beautiful farm. Our birthday is as much about us being awesome as it is about our amazing customers and what they do.
See you there!

About last night...been eating like crap and haven’t been making juice so it was therapeutic to end the long day with the fresh smell of juice. ~
For this juice, I used kale, wheatgrass, celery, cucumber, apple, ginger, carrot, lemon, and bell pepper. I’m using the @omegajuicing J8006 Nutrition Center🥬🥒🥕🌶🍏🍋
David and I have been juicing for a few months now and I can really tell the difference when I don’t drink one — felt a little more tired than usual and not my vibrant self. The next few days I’ll be making more of an effort to drink MORE water and LESS processed foods (sorry, pop chips). ~
Happy Thursday! Hope you have a good one 🙌🏼🥬🥒🥕🌶🍏🍋 @juice_o_clock
Rainbow Goethite opens our Crown and Third Eye Chakra to Universal downloads while stabilizing our Root Chakra and allowing our bodies to ground down into our Earth and our personal power.
Rainbow Goethite is a stone of grief-healing, specifically for pain associated with trauma and PTSD. It’s the friend that’s willing to get down and deep with you about your pain so you can start to release it.
Meditating with Rainbow Goethite will open your soul to your deep, inner pain which is mandatory for working through it. In trauma’s case, the only way out is through. You have to be willing to stare the pain in the eye and take some of its power away. You have to be willing to cry and break to fully heal.
When you lock yourself inside, you don’t just keep out pain, toxic people, and the things you fear. You keep the light out. You tell the magic you need in your life that you aren’t interested. You need to cultivate the strength and confidence to open that door back up.
Don’t worry, the light and the magic are the tools you need to fight what scares you.
