Trying something new this year. As people want more fights then you get at a normal tournament. I figure why not give the people what they want. We will run the showdown this year as a scrimmage format meaning we will still do division set ups but I want everyone to get as many matches as possible so they get their moneys worth. Through out the day you can fight on Daedo or the new 20/20 armor. 🔴🔵Fight who ever you want however many times you want. Medals will be given out for forms, and for sparring we will be giving out awards for stand out Competitors. Bragging rights and a bunch of fights is the goal. Also new this year THE MIDWEST TAEKWONDO LEAGUE will be there. Championship belts will be on the line. And the new TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP BELTS will be introduced. A color belt tag team tournament will take place to crown the first color belt tag team championship. To learn how to become members of the MTL contact me and I would love to tell you about it. 🥋🇺🇸✌🏼#taekwondo#martialarts#kicking#punching#learning#teaching#competting#fighting#experience#passion#goals#power#strength#dreams#believe#motivation#determination#confidence#compassion#americantaekwondobrookfield#atc#atbsquad
I’m a little upset for not having posted in a long time, but I’m back with a story I’d like to share about a recent experience I had that I’ve never had before. Last Wednesday I was a victim of violence, and as a result I now have to wear a cast for two weeks. This is a little disappointing because I was finally getting good at handstands, but in all seriousness the injury I received is nothing compared to injuries received daily due to domestic violence all over the world. I may be limited in what workouts and yoga poses I can do for a little while, and have to spend an extra 15 minutes flossing my teeth; but there are some unfortunate individuals out there that are going through far worse. I want to use this post to raise awareness about domestic abuse, whether verbal or physical, and offer some advice to anyone currently going through a situation where this is a reality. If you are dealing with an abusive individual and are genuinely afraid of physical contact or verbal abuse, please don’t be afraid to call the police or the National Domestic Abuse Hotline for help at 1-800-799-7233, you are able to remain anonymous and everything that you say is confidential. Any excuses that you make to defend the individual are not worth it. More often than not, the types of animals that engage in this sort of violent behavior progressively get worse over time, especially if help is not sought after. They will bully you and scare you into thinking that your voice is meaningless, but it’s not. They will not change. Is change possible? Maybe, but it won’t come on its own. You might be afraid to stand up and say something, but there are people out there who can protect you. No one has the right to intimidate you or make you feel like a lesser-being, don't wait until it's too late. You deserve better. I’ll have a new blog post up soon. I’ve quite missed writing and there’s no time better than now to come back to doing what I love most, trying to help others help themselves. Stay safe and remember, no excuses. I’m not going to stop any of the habits I’ve implemented, I just have to accommodate for change. Change is good, I will grow from this.
Father, keep me in love with You.
Karl Marx on the alienation manufactured from working your life in a capitalist state of terror: "In what does this alienation of labour consist? First, that the work is external to the worker, that it is not a part of his nature, that consequently he does not fulfill himself in his work but denies himself, has a feeling of misery, not of wellbeing, does not develop freely a physical and mental energy, but is physically exhausted and mentally debased. The worker therefore feels himself at home only during his leisure whereas at work he feels homeless. His work is not voluntary but imposed, forced labour. It is not the satisfaction of a need, but only a means for satisfying other needs. Its alien character is clearly shown by the fact that as soon as there is no physical or other compulsion it is avoided like the plague. Finally, the alienated character of work for the worker appears in the fact that it is not his work but work for someone else, that in work he does not belong to himself but to another person....
The alienation of the worker in his product means not only that his labour becomes an object, takes on its own existence, but that it exists outside of him, independently, and alien to him, and that it stands opposed to him as an autonomous power. The life he has given to the object sets itself against him as an alien and hostile force."
