Hey again! Gosh, I feel like there’s so much I want to share that I can’t boil it down into one post... so I guess I’ll just do this one for now and share a bunch tomorrow, including how my facial went! 💙✨🌹
We were talking in my coaching group yesterday about consistency and keeping up with good habits, especially when life gets crazy or your routine gets thrown off. One thing @annettepasternak suggested was to set a goal that’s low enough that you know you’re going to achieve it and likely even surpass it - something you’re almost certain you can do every day just to get in the habit of doing it every day. Specifically, we talked about meditation and how setting a goal of just 1 minute a day will 1) make it more likely to happen because you can more easily convince yourself to do 1 min than 10 or 20 mins, etc. and 2) will probably lead to you doing it for even longer than 1 minute because the act of starting is really the hardest part.
I feel this is so true for pretty much everything... that I avoid, avoid, avoid x thing because the thought of doing whatever it is stresses me out, but as soon as I start, it doesn’t feel nearly as bad/difficult.

Still working on re-doing my challenge worksheets and I’m seriously considering just starting over fresh since I haven’t been following it too much lately anyhow. The one thing that will remain will be the challenge of meditating every morning... for at least 1 minute!
Incomprehensible demoralization. Every single time I pick up this book.. I learn something new. “All of us felt at times that we were regaining control, but such intervals - usually brief- were inevitably followed by still less control, which lead in hind to pitiful and incomprehensible demoralization. We are convinced to a man that alcoholics of our type are in the grip of a progressive illness. Over any considerable period we get worse, never better.” Page 30
My entire drinking life was incomprehensible demoralization. I’ve never been able to clearly articulate what my life was like... but those two words sum it up. That life was all I knew and all I wanted... until I learned there was another way of living.. that I had a choice... I didn’t have a choice about being an alcoholic but I did have the choice to seek help. We all have that choice.. even if it feels like we don’t. If you are suffering tonight.. if you feel like your skin is going to turn inside out and that simply existing is physically, mentally and emotionally excruciating. Ask for help. I don’t care if you’ve asked for help a million times and if you’ve disappointed people and if you’ve never made it a full 24 hours sober no matter how hard you tried. Keep asking for help... that moment of true surrender will save your life... but only if you want it... needing it isn’t enough. Reach out, call a hotline, check out a support group on Facebook.. DM me or anyone you know who is in recovery and ask for help. I’m ready for this day to just end. Ready to hibernate for the long weekend & recharge. Get back in a good headspace. Today got my emotions jumbled & I know I’m going to need a couple days to get back to “normal”. Whatever that is.
My mom argued with me today that someone she’s seeing in her office is related to an ex from 10 years ago. She was really grasping at straws to make it true & it irritated me because this was someone that REALLY hurt me. I’m certain he caused my fear of abandonment. Anyways, I told her I don’t need to know because it’s honestly not even my business & she got offended & took it personally. That really drained me.
I tried to leave work early today but one of the doctors I work for decided to cause drama for everyone for this upcoming Tuesday. I was so distraught I could feel tears coming & emotions rising. I ended up having to stay late & scramble to find people to come in for Tuesday. We aren’t supposed to be in the office that day & it’s going to disrupt the rest of the office staff... No one is going to be happy that day. I told her I will absolutely not be coming in so she’s on her own.
I’m so emotionally exhausted I want to sleep forever. I was so close to flipping out on her. I contacted one of my coworkers about it because I was so upset & she’s going to talk to the office manager because it’s really not fair to do to me right when I’m about to leave & before a long weekend. I’m stressed out now because I don’t want to piss anyone off but that’s kind of inevitable.
On top of that stuff, I’ve been feeling nauseous on & off for the last few days. My stomach keeps doing flip flops & it’s keeping me up at night. Really hoping I can get some rest this weekend... 🌸

Everyone likes the idea of having a safe place to hide; whether that be building forts with our grandmother's dining room chairs on a rainy day, claiming sanctuary high above the ground in tree houses, or clutching a security blanket when the darkness of night becomes too intimidating. A place where we can escape the harsh state of reality, an enviornment which only changes upon our command. To have somewhere or something truly unshakable when heavy winds start to blow. 🐻
Life existing outside this hiding spot pressed onward. The never ending spinning cycle of nature had no effect on us, so long as we kept still...immobile. Does this take you back to more youthful years past? Whether you hid in hope of flying off to uncharted fantasy destinations or in order to flee from a destructive household, my sympathy is with you, as I have done both. 🐻
Though to be honest, I still make flawed attempts in concealing myself behind child-like delusions. In fact, I think we all do. Only now, instead of seeking shelter under couch cushions, venturing to mystical lands by means of imagination, we drown out loud noises by popping prescription pills. We fashion ourselves into fantastic realms by consuming alcohol. We slip into sexual situations , trading in stability for an evening of spontanaity. Thus losing our true identity. 🐻
When you work around toddlers long enough, you come to realize that they hold the key to living a type of care free lifestyle so many of us are in pursuit of. And although we must grow maturely with age, we should maintain the same spirit of a child. 🐻
Last week, while observing in a pre-K classroom, I watched as a four year old helped her fellow peers with decorating a snowman. Abandoning her own half finished project, she gave words of encouragement and instruction to her neighbors. I remember sitting there in awe, as a quiet presence showed me what I as a Christian am called to do. CONTINUE BELOW
In all of our years in doing interventions, we’ve realized that their purpose is to foster family healing as much as they are to help the addict heal and recover. Family members need to take on new, more positive roles during the loved one’s recovery. Enabling and codependency behaviors need to be addressed, and relationships need to be repaired.

I find I NEED quiet grounding moments to build resilience and balance in my mental health. I need Mindful moments. I need to stop in the middle of a Sunday walk to breath in the air, and notice the heat hit my skin. I gotta disconnect from the “to do” and just ••be••

If you’ve ever worked out with me, you know that I hate stretching.
What do I hate more than stretching? Yup. Foam rolling.
Now, before you go on the attack, I know they’re important. I just don’t like doing them.
I’m trying to get better at it though and do both more frequently. It’s especially important after an event like a marathon. If you look closely, you’ll probably see a few less than pleasant looks on my face 😂
If you’re like me, my advice is to break into both slowly. Don’t overextend yourself, and definitely know the difference between “discomfort” and “pain.”
You can find plenty of guided videos on YouTube if you need help. I did a class on the @onepeloton app with @mattwilpers (who I really wish offered Ironman coaching!) tonight.
Don’t forget to drink plenty of water afterwards!
Доброе утро ☕️ Как начинается ваша суббота? У меня с зарядки, завтрака и витаминов) Здоровый образ жизни- это кайф, когда ты чувствуешь нереальную чистоту внутри и легкость. Я не говорю только о питании, ведь качество волос, ногтей , кожи на прямую тоже зависит от здорового рациона и вообщем жизни 😊💪 Нормализация обмена веществ и хорошая работа внутренних необходимых элементов в организме - залог энергии и хорошего самочувствия. Вот как-то меня раздразнили на тосты в Инстаграме и я вчера решила сделать на обед такое чудо 🙈 Очень сытный цельнозерновой пшеничный хлеб! Идеальный состав и замечательный вкус. И что ещё, скажите , надо? )) Я рада, что нашла такой хлеб, но есть не большая проблема: его нужно очень быстро съесть, ибо черствеет моментально. Но на кульке для этого сделаны специальные дурочки, чтобы «дышал». Кстати, у нас завтра обещают до +10 и солнце! Надо будет пройтись в парк и прикормить моих голубей 😅 Как у вас с погодой? Hanging upside down & stretching is legit everything I didn’t know I was needing to end a week. 🤪 Feeling way better energy today (thanks spin class & #adaptogens). And this is the first day in several I have been able to go upside down without it hurting my sinuses. And putting Bell to bed my neck & shoulder were feeling so tight. Now - nada. Amazing.

3 MONTHS postpartum with TWINS/3rd c-section recovery and improvement from a horrible painful rash that covered my stomach. I’ve had only one 20 minute workout of arms and shoulders since giving birth (more if you include lifting and carrying two car seats). Every time I plan to make it to the gym it just doesn’t happen but time is proving to be an awesome healer!! I can’t do much while breastfeeding, my strength is gone (tried to do a pull up and push up and it wasn’t happening) and internally things are still out of wack. I’m going to start focusing on closing my 3-4 finger abdominal separation so that I can eventually begin to workout my core. In the meantime I’ll just keep enjoying my babies and continuing to try to make it to the gym. I’ll get there (my goals) when I get there. I have scaled back on my cookie addiction too!

Please pray for my mom suzy 🙏❤ My Momma is not doing very well... She is still in the hospital struggling to get better.
Mom fell in the hospital a couple days ago hit her head. Nothing broken thankfully.
Mom now has blood clots in her lungs, they want to put a filter in to keep them from going to her heart! They were going to do that today but her clotting level was to low. She also has blood in her abdomen and other fluid possibly infection. Its really just been one thing after another. She cant even catch a break. I am thankful she is in a good hospital and her husband can be there for her. I know hes exhausted as is she. I am really praying hard that she can get through this and recover.
