Our first act is not about climbing higher on the ladder of success; it’s about stepping down. It’s about letting go of the things we do to feel worthy, so we can return to who we were before we forgot. We don’t need a ladder to construct who we are supposed to be; we need an oxygen mask to resuscitate who we’ve always been. We don’t need to build; we simply need to breathe.
Our breath, it turns out, is one of the best tools we have. .
When you breathe, you are not building a breathtaking life; you are simply taking the breath that gives you life. You are not moving up; you are settling down. You are not trying to win a trophy; you are simply being you.
Can you sense what a great act of faith this is? To stop all of your doing and to simply breathe, even for ten minutes, when you still believe your doing is what makes you worthy? To quit performing while you’re still wondering if your performance has been acceptable? There’s no to-do list for this kind of moment, because there is literally nothing to do. In fact, the task is to slowly settle into doing nothing so you can experience being something, even while that something remains a mystery to you. And it requires only one thing: you have to dare to believe the something you are is alight with worthiness.
~ Dr. Kelly Flanagan, Loveable (p68)
I felt more resistance coming to terms with this excerpt. Isn't 'doing' how I make my life worthwhile? Am I not wasting precious time if I'm not 'doing'? But what am I really even doing? What am I trying to prove? When will I connect to my being? I don't call myself a human-doing. A good practice to develop is becoming mindful of our breathing, to connect with the simple act of what keeps us alive. And come back to that awareness whenever we can - during traffic, waiting in line, waiting for the lift, waiting for the bus, on your way to your destination. There's always opportunity.
Tonight is a powerful Super, Full Blue Moon, signifiying the importance of finding balance in relationships with people around you, and manifesting self-worth and self-respect within yourself. It is true that we attract who we are, so by prioritizing ourselves, by valuing and loving ourselves, the more our relationships will reflect that love and respect back to us 🙏
Tonight I choose to mark this potent Super Full Moon by diffusing a beautiful combination of oils that help create balanced and honest intentions within relationships. May words of love be spoken truthfully, with courage and kindness.
Litsea is the oil of manifestation, matched with the healing energy of Manuka (the oil of being upheld) and Lavender, aiding verbal expression and calming the mind. Frankincense, the oil of divine truth brings both balance and further raises the vibrational energy of this super potent blend.
Love, light & full moon blessings x
