It’s a wee bit grey here today, but what’s to be expected on a Bank Holiday?! Today I’m sharing this short clip of the setting for our first unit in all its unfinished glory, which gives a real taste of the location and tranquility you’ll enjoy exclusively when you stay with us. The build is progressing waaaaaay too slowly for my liking but continues to be a lesson in patience for me. Things are tipping away behind the scenes and I’m really hopeful that the ace team @roundcraft will be back on site before too much longer working their magic for us.
We’ve had some fairly unrealistic ideas about building this entirely ourselves. Well OK, I had some fairly unrealistic ideas! Life just gets in the way; work, family, barn renovation, etc - but again, this has all been a lesson for me and I’m learning from it all.
This morning we’ve visited 2 sets of wonderful neighbours who’ve both donated things earmarked for the dump to us for the build, and have come home with a truck full of timber, doors, breathable membrane and much more. Happy days! #bankholiday#bankholidaymonday#greyday#patience#neighbours#helpful#learning#recycle#repurpose#reuse#renovationproject#renovation#greenbuild#greenbuildings#microhouse#microhome#cabin#green#regenerate#upcycle#dontdumpit#happydays
hello! this is a new account dedicated entirely to saving the earth. decades of pollution and litter have caused devastating amounts of climate change that will soon be too great to reverse. we have it in our power to save the world while we can. if we all join together to raise awareness and take action, we can do it. the time to act is now.
Are you ready for the summer? 🌞🌊 Say no more to single-use plastic straws and drink your smoothies, bubble teas, and ice lattes in style while being eco-friendly at the same time! 🙌❤🌍
For only £9.99, you get 8 straws in 4 different sizes, 2 cleaning brushes and a handy pouch - you know a good deal when you see one 😉

Here’s an easy way to reduce your waste impact...stop throwing things away 🤷🏼♀️ When containers get used up, instead of sending them to some magical far away land (aka the ocean), wash them out and keep them to be reused. You can now buy bulk hand creams and soaps and decant them into pretty bottles. Saving the planet and your wallet 😉 #soundsgoodtome
Do you know what all these symbols mean?♻️ALL of them are for different types of plastic!
Sorting ALL plastics into these categories is expensive and inefficient❌
Until recently, most of the plastic from the US and other developed nations was shipped to China🇨🇳 🚢
China have now stopped taking other nation's plastic, meaning MOST OF THE PLASTIC YOU RECYCLE GOES TO LANDFILL🆘
There is a better way! We can use plant based plastic alternatives for ALL applications. If we achieve this, ALL waste could we collected along with food and composted together, creating high-grade compost and fertiliser for the next generation of crops🌱🌾🎋 as well as biogas for clean energy♻️
At nood, we will only provide straws when you ask for them. Bring your own reusable one, use our paper straws – or better yet, go without! Who needs straws when you’ve got lips to sip?
Get paper straws – or go straw-free. Get in the mood.
Happy Easter and Passover! May you have a relaxing and blessed Sunday 🐣🐰.
Ideas for plastic free July.
Small and consistent lifestyle changes create big results.
Reusable shopping bags to put your groceries in. Supermarkets usually sell them for $1 AUD each and you may need 5 or 6, depending on the amount of shopping/size of family.
Remember to take them with you by leaving them on the front seat of your car near or on top of your handbag or wallet. If one can fit in your handbag, even better because you will then remember to take the rest of them. You can also leave your eco friendly produce bags in your reusable shopping bag or handbag.
