when the polar ice caps melt, there are many negative consequences that will surely follow, with huge effects on both humans and animals who are living in the polar regions. Some of the possible effects are:
➳ Rising Sea Levels:
If the polar ice caps keep melting, sea levels will rise to an extent that especially coastal areas will be flooded. Many metropolitan cities are located near costal regions which endangers the life of millions of people. Further, increasing sea levels might lead to contaminations of fresh water and beach erosions.
➳ #globalwarming causing #climatechange :
Polar ice reflects sunlight which, when it melts, will be absorb by the ocean and land, instead. This will create a warmer climate which further accelerates the melting of polar ice caps. If this viscous cycle continues, acidity level are expected to increase by approx. 40 to 50 %, mixing in the greenhouse gases.
➳ #speciesextinction :
Polar ice caps give home to many animals, such as polar bears, seals, and penguins. The ice is necessary to support their search for food and eventually, for their overall survival.
We need to stop global warming to prevent a massive #climatebreakdown. To do this, we need changes on a global level. Our governments must act now! Join us for the #globalstrike next Friday to demand #climatejustice 💚 📸 @jerichovisual#fortheearth#forpeopleandplanet#timeisnow

What an amazing weekend at the Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA). Absolutely honored and shocked to have won but most importantly to have met so many new people and gained a new perspective on such important world issues.
And what a timely manner to hold such an event as we've just completed our election season.
My peers and I are extremely concerned with the election results and more so for our governments persistent ignorance of vital issues such as climate change (which happens to be one of our MUNA issues this weekend). As the future generations of this world we must demand the change we want to see and continue to fight tirelessly.
Another GLOBAL STRIKE will be happening THIS FRIDAY, MAY 24!
Join over 70 countries to school strike for climate action! Kamloops’ protest will be held in the same location as the last strike, from 8am-11am on Columbia and 5th avenue (the courthouse), then making our way to city hall where we will be until 3pm.
Half-day and full-day participants are always welcome! Strikers are reminded that this will be a peaceful and respectful protest to both the environment and people around us, meaning no blocking sidewalks, littering, swearing, etc.
If you are planning on joining us, we would like to encourage strikers to pack food and water to sustain themselves, and, if possible, signs to hold during the strike (there will be extra signs provided if need be). If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to comment below, or dm us and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
If you are unable to attend the strike, we ask you to please support the cause by spreading the word!
Thank you all, we hope to see you Friday, May 24!

Since our leaders are insane, it is up to us to stand united and demand the changes we need to survive- with such unity that we cannot be ignored. WE CAN SAVE THE WORLD IF WE TRY, BUT WE GOTTA DO IT N👏O👏W👏 WE ARE CURRENTLY IN A STATE OF EMERGENCY THAT MANKIND HAS NEVER SEEN! LET’S WAKE UP + get our leaders to recognize the gravity of what’s at stake + begin transitioning NOW!!! We already have all the technology and innovation needed to turn this around. The U.K. officially declared State Of Emergency after the @extinctionrebellion protests a few weeks ago. IT IS POSSIBLE! LET’S DO THIS!!

I have a woken up this morning to find liberal has Won the election.
This means the Adani coal mine is still a go ahead, their is no climate change action policies and out environmental losses shall be profound.
Mother Earth needs us to stand together more than ever before. She needs our help! For the future of our generations, for the future of our wildlife, for the future of our flora and fauna, for the future of our islands. This election will not dimmest our desire to continue to fight for what’s right. We are the people and we do have the power. We will push this to the front until this is all they hear!
Great to see this mural of mine featured on U.S. website ThinkProgress. However I disagree with the argument in the article that the opposition party (ALP) provided a strong climate strategy as opposed to the conservatives. The ALP unfortunately still supports the Adani Coal mine and other fossil fuel extraction. And part of the reason the Conservatives won this election was because the ALP was weak in providing a publicly funded, renewable energy project that would provide thousands of jobs for the average worker feeling the stress of a very precarious employment situation. They could have been more forthright by taxing the billionaires to fund these new climate focused projects, let alone reverse privatisation and ending the corporate destruction of public assets such as education and healthcare.
The Australian election has been honestly crushing. Despite the efforts of the young and old to educate voters on the detrimental environmental effects Liberals will have. They will construct Adani, they will continue the fracking, the coal mining, the seismic testing. Everything we’ve been fighting to stop.
They will continue to DENY climate change.
They will do all that they said they would in the budget - cuts to funding for NDIS, for foreign doctors, and very limited funding into Renewable energy. -
Thousands across Australia in shock, disbelief and sadness. So watch out for the young people, they’re rising. Now only stronger and more powerful.
