I went to church this morning. I don't have a religion, I do have a dose of curiosity.
I broke down in tears when something I had thought for a while actually turned into a feeling. When a thought becomes a feeling, it becomes an undeniable truth.
When we speak to God or the Universe, we are actually addressing ourselves. There is no external entity that can provide us with strength or forgiveness. When we ask for it while looking up to the sky, we are asking nobody but ourselves. 'Lord, I surrender to you' becomes 'I surrender to me'. It is us. We are our own saviour.
The creator of life isn't God or the Universe to me. I am the creator of life, because I get to design the life I envision. Therefore, I am God. I am the Universe. I am. I.
We all make mistakes.
We all have lapses in judgement.
We all have bad days.
But we can’t make excuses for our bad behavior. We have to take responsibility for our bad behaviors and take actionable steps to keep us from repeating those actions that hurt ourselves and the people around us.
People are more likely to remember negative events than they are positive ones. You’ll remember losing $100 much longer than you’ll remember gaining $100.
This works the same in most aspects of life.
It’s not ok to call people names just because you’re hungry and in a bad mood. That person is going to remember that you called them a “Biscuit-eating Bull Dog”. Take responsibility.
It’s not ok to cut someone off on your way to work because your kids held you up that morning. That person you cut off is going to remember that. Take responsibility.
The phrase “Hurt people, hurt people” is a real thing, but it’s not ok to hurt someone, just because you are hurting. Be stronger. Be responsible. Work on yourself.
Let’s be better. Let’s keep growing together.
Next up bench press.
95kg (209lbs) ✅ 105kg (231lbs) ✅ 110kg (243lbs) ❌
This was probably my only regret of the comp but it was a good learning experience. Probs should have got 107.5 for 3rd. Anyways I thought I had paused long enough but forgot to wait for command so no lift on the 3rd unfortunately.
Really happy to hit 105 at least.
Competing at 80.6kg (178lbs) bodyweight.
Big thanks to @bethnalgreenwlc for hosting, @greaterlondonpowerlifting for organising and my coach @xsteelxfitness for getting me prepared for my first ever powerlifting competition.
Late post but had amazing food on Valentine’s Day. You don’t need to go to a fancy restaurant. Babe made heart shaped scrambled eggs for breakfast, and I made a steak and French onion soup dinner. Also had some amazing pirogies for lunch(not shown). 🥰😋😋
Officially half way done with FIGR:Elite!!
The scale hasn’t changed much, so I really didn’t know what to expect when I compared today’s progress pics to the originals. •
This proves that the SCALE DOESN’T MATTER. Numbers are just numbers. What you really want is a change in shape/composition/muscle tone & that’s exactly what FIGR:Elite focuses on 🙌🏼 And better yet - I’ve had more energy, more confidence and more love for myself these past 6 weeks than ever before 💞
If you’re looking for any of these things - let’s work together to help you actually achieve them!! No more leaving it up to chance. I got you, let’s do this together 👊🏼 Drop a “let’s do this 👊🏼” below && we’ll work together to set you up for success 🙌🏼🎉
I get to kick it with my brother this weekend in Jersey. I am so humbled my parents for their dedication and strength and the teamwork it takes. He is the biggest gift and challenge they say yes to every day. He teaches all of us so much about unconditional love, strength, patience and family...He is digging on some Owl Eyes Shine Potions..love that.
Today’s church service had me leaving so encouraged today I thought I’d share it with you all 🤗
Don’t let the storms across the surface discouraged you! If you feel shaken, remember you can stand unshakable because the Lord is the source of your strength. Through Him, we can stand unshakable like the tree in
#jeremiah 17:7-8 “They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit”
✨The Gifts of Shakti are for everyone and her sacred empowerment principles can be lovingly applied to your life.✨ 1.The Gift of Desire
Follow your desires
Feminine power is based on pure desire. Desire without fear or limitation. Once we have pure desire, we attract and magnetize to ourselves anything we want. Shakti burns away obstacles and shows you what your heart truly desires. Shakti helps you focus and channel power in ways that moves energy in your desired direction.
2.The Gift of Clarity
Be clear about who you are
Clarity cuts through confusion like a sword cuts through fog. You can manifest by getting clear. Get clear on how your perceptions. How do you describe your perception of yourself? Do you feel strong, weak. powerful, beautiful or magical? Get clear on your imagery. Get clear on your expectations.
3. The Gift of Victory
Take control of your life
Empowerment is when you move your will power through strong emotions like fear or anger and confusion like a chariot moves through battle into victory. You can use the volcanic energy behind anger, fear and confusion and transform them into positive qualities that propel you in life.
4. The Gift of Self-Love and Strength
Feel all your feelings
When you are not feeling loved, do you want someone to tell you they love you? To be empowered around this issue you would have to stop waiting for someone else to tell you are loved and start telling yourself. You would need to tell yourself frequently to really let it in. You have to value yourself and define your sacred identity as eternal, worthy and deserving. When you have told yourself enough times you are deeply loved then you will start to own and embody that love. This becomes your own experience of self-respect and self-esteem.
5. The Gift of Letting Go
Let go of repetitive patterns, beliefs and habits that keep you stuck
Empowerment is actively taking charge of your thoughts. Changing long-held belief-systems, patterns and habits takes time and devotion. The first step is to notice self-sabotaging thought forms like ‘yes but’, ‘if only…’. (Cont. comments)
A body transformation is only a effort and a motivation away... It all starts with you though... You need to make the moves and provide the determination!
@alphafit_sa will get you there... #justjoin 💪🏽
