A massive thanks to everyone that went to see The Meg over the last week or so. For the second weekend it has remained the #1 movie in the world! It’s great success is down to everyone turned up and I’m so grateful for the solid support. This really does make all of the hard work and effort worth it.
The Meg 🦈: This film has been called a lot of things, including the next best shark movie since jaws. I would have to agree with that statement.
The premise of this film is very straight forward and actually pretty scientifically possible which I liked. The idea that a whole other ecosystem deep in the ocean untouched by humans is a really interesting thought.
Although this movie is very predictable and the kind of movie where everything can go wrong does, it still was able to capture my attention and hold it. I found myself having fun with the story and smiling at the intense shark interactions.
One thing I could say was wrong with this film was that I think some parts of the movie that were meant to be either scary or sad, failed. Also some of the Chinese characters seemed very stereotypical.
Overall this movie was fun. Although I didn’t feel the emotions the film tried to push on me, I truly felt the films fun factor was it’s greatest achievement.
