“If you’d just lose weight you’d be as pretty as your cousin.” *meets my new boyfriend* “well how did YOU get him? Must be your money” we’ve all had someone say something about our weight that resonated so deeply with us we thought ourselves unworthy. My favorite was always “you have such a pretty face.” Words can tear us down for sure. It took me YEARS to let go of those first two sentences I wrote. I still think about it constantly. Why would someone say this to me? Was it true? First off, shame on anyone who thinks they have the right to speak on anyone’s physical appearance. Secondly, shame on me for believing it for even ONE second. I already was beautiful and for heavens sake my boyfriend (my now husband) loved me because I’m an f-ing amazing human being🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ words can hurt and will stay with us for a long time. I struggled for so long to find my self worth and even thought I was unworthy. I’m standing here today to tell you that no matter what I THINK YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL. I KNOW YOU’RE WORTHY. YOU ARE STRONG. YOU ARE CAPABLE. AND YOU ARE AN AMAZING F-ING HUMAN BEING. Never let someone’s misguided words control how you feel about yourself. This journey will change you physically yes but it will also make you realize that you had this in you the whole time. You just had to find it. Start finding that part of you. I’m going to start filming some videos about how I lost the weight eating and exercise wise but I can’t stress enough how crucial self reflection is along the way. You have everything in you that you need, you just need to REALIZE it. Never give up and never quit. The satisfaction of shutting up negative people is worth it alone😂😈😉
Fallen Off the Wagon
Did your cheat day run into the weekend and not stop?
I used to tell myself…
I’ll start over on Monday.
I said this all the time.
My Mondays started running together.
I lost hope.
Depression took over.
Bad eating habits came back with a vengeance.
I didn’t care.
But I did.
When I was younger…
I was a competitive swimmer.
A pretty damn good one.
I worked my butt off.
Two hour practices.
Sometimes twice a day.
Strength and core training.
My swimmer body was shredded.
Long story short…
Swimming ended my senior year in high school.
I focused on my grades and friends.
Lack of sport discipline coupled with poor body image led to a downward spiral of quick fix diets and extreme exercises programs.
I could never get the body I once had.
Self confidence plummeted.
It was awful.
Life shouldn’t be this damn miserable.
I put so much pressure on myself.
I’m going to tell you something…
Don’t listen to others telling you how you should look.
Don’t listen to the negative voices in your head.
What do you do?
Have a donut.
Or a slice of pizza.
Skip your workout.
Because it’s going to be ok.
Listen to me…
Are you listening?
You’re in control.
Not the food.
Not the negativity.
Don’t call it a cheat day.
Having one donut will NOT kill you.
It’s your reward.
You’ve earned it if you want it.
Then, you move on.
Life is too short.
I owe this new outlook to Keto.
The Keto Diet has saved me in a sense.
I WANT to eat “Keto”. I feel better.
I am better.
Yo-yo dieting just doesn’t happen anymore.
I allow myself something “bad” every once in awhile because I’m in control.
That one “bad” thing was worth it…
But keto is a part of me and my self journey.
Can’t and won’t give that up.
So if you’re struggling…
Dust yourself off.
Get on the wagon.
It will be ok…

Dude. I was feeling tired, bloated, I’m craving crappy food like nobody’s business and my skin was breaking out (hi, I’m not 12 again. What the hell?)

So, the facts about the 4 truths in Part 1 Insta Post?
1. Nutritional rebalancing and adding the necessary nutrients to my everyday diet (diet being a noun not a verb here)so my body isn't suffering the loss of the proper nutrition just because I don't feel like eating or motivated to cook for myself or my family.
2. Nope...Not a magic pill. Won't make you lose 50 lbs overnight. Won't cure your diseases, aliments, aches and pains. But... it's nutritional profile WILL provide you with what your body needs to allow IT to perform what IT is designed to do and thereby provide you more energy, less inflammation and less toxicicity that feeds the ails of your body.
3. Although I have heard comments of "aging backwards", feeling younger, energetic, vibrant, there is no proof that this system is the fountain of youth (no matter HOW much your mind and mirror tries to convince you it is)
4.And most importantly...not perfect because is there really ever "perfect"? And although the results I have had...you can have...10's of thousands have had..will NOT, I repeat WILL NOT make your life perfect. You'll still have physical, mental and emotional struggles...I mean this is this thing called LIFE... but it might, just might help you gain a little bit of the edges of perfection if such a thing exsists.
And isn't that little glimmer of hope all we are really asking for?
I promise you this though. I will stay the course, fight the good fight...I will trust in the science; I will trust in the things my God given machine has taught me; and come 30 days from now, or less, I will resemble the healthier version I have seen of me before I let LIFE take me down over the last few months.
So? Life take over? Or Take over Life?
Why bother with a filter?🤷♀️ ~Part 1~
This isn't an "oh look...a Bad before...Good After...Its a During!
During everyday life picture!
I don't filter my mouth, so why should I filter my face?🤷♀️ I rarely ever use photo or app filters on my pictures of me...I mean people already KNOW what I look like so who am I kidding? Myself?, NO...I look at this face every morning in the mirror....but sometimes I don't SEE it.👀
I did this side by side photo last night because I shocked myself (picture on the left)😯 when I was poloing my family and relized that just 2 months time had past since the picture on the right.
It's been a hard couple of months physically and emotionally speaking💔😢....and it shows..right there on my face. 💯 % Yes I use an amazing Superfoods nutrition. 💯 % Yes, I excercise. 💯 % Yes, I work hard at life everyday.
But, Life still happens....🤦♀️ I still have a few autoimmune diseases causing systemic issues in my body I absolutely CANNOT control, even with nutrition. I still go through periods of pain and lack of motivation to excercise as often as I should. I still suffer from sleepless nights. I still react to significant emotional events in my life that happen TO me not because OF me.💔😪
And unforunately as with most people that can show on my face and through my eyes.👀

2. It's NOT a magic pill and it doesn't cure anything.
3. It doesn't make you years younger.
4. It's not going to make your life miriculously perfect.

But what I can tell you is, OMG,😟 how would I look and feel if I WASN'T at the very LEAST operating a no-brainer and feeding my body the bare minimum nutrients it needs every day?? Track what you eat. There are a lot of great apps that help you to see just how much you consume in a day. Find one that works for you and get going. If you don't like that idea, just write it down in a journal or the note application in your cell phone.
