Possibly this is a bit harsh, but it struck a chord with me. .
I’ve spent most of my life striving to be a great friend. I love my friends so much and put forth effort to be there for them when they need me. .
I’ve finally surrounded myself with caring people who are important to me, but it was a long road of heartbreak and betrayal to get here.
My husband often has to remind me that I’m a good person with a good heart because when you’ve been hurt as much as I have you start believing you’re the problem.
Rest assured if you befriend me, I will feel your pain right alongside you. I will celebrate your successes and grin ear to ear with your joy. Befriending an empath can amplify your own emotion when you’re at your happiest and make you feel heard and accompanied in your grief.
authentic love comes with

I always find it easier to give love and care to others. Why that is? I'm not sure but I know I'm not alone. Many of us will give so much to others that there isn't much left for ourselves. I struggle with seeming selfish or the simple fact that I don't like to see others suffering and want to jump in and fix "it". I think particularly as women we naturally do this and I am learning more and more the importance of self love and understanding that if my cup is empty I can't help anyone. .
How many times have you been in an argument and lost your temper or said something you didn't mean but it just felt good to say it... until everything settles down and your left having to clean up a mess based off of a temporary emotion and not being slow to speak and slow to wrath and not willing to be swift to hear because your focused on getting your point across? Does it ever make the other person see your point clearer? Do you think they respect you more afterward?
We've all been here! The tongue is very dangerous and sharp, it's so easy to get worked up over things that are so small and senseless to feel as if we "won the argument" all for our selfish pride. These words in the book of James should be at the forefront of our minds at all times, especially with someone who may be lost because you could be the only Jesus that they see! 💙 #bealight#flexyourfaith#slowtospeak#slowtowrath🙏 #swifttohear#wordsofwisdom
✨You didn’t come this far to simply give up on your dreams.
You were born unique and you hold something special within.
Don’t be afraid of living your life the way you’d want it to be!
Impatience is a form of unbelief of God's timing or goodness of God's guidance. How many of us struggle day to day with impatience. It could be about anything, traffic, waiting for an email, whatever. haha
It comes up in our hearts when our plan is interrupted or shattered. And sometimes that feels like the usual. haha
The opposite of impatience is a deepening, peaceful willingness to wait for the Lord in 'the unplanned place of obedience' to walk, and to wait in His place, and to go at His pace. Not our own remember. Which can sometimes seem like forever. But, the key is faith in future grace.
It seems as though our generation has NO capacity to wait and to endure. It's all about schedules.
Patience is the capacity to "wait and to endure" without the complaining. To wait in the unplanned place, and ENDURE the unplanned pace. (Easier said then done I know) haha But stick with me.
We can have hope of future grace beyond this life that carries us patiently through our afflictions. Look at Paul in the bible, he made it very clear in his own life!
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
"16 Therefore we do not lose heart. (meaning we don't complain in impatience) Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." Patience is the evidence of an inner strength. Impatience people are weak, and therefore depend on schedules that fit perfectly into their own life. See, patience demands a lot of inner strength!
I love how John Piper expounds on this! "For the Christian, this strength comes from God. This is why Paul is praying for the Colossians. He is asking God to empower them for the patient endurance that the Christian life requires. #study#wordsofwisdom#lordswill#godstiming#godswill#christ#sunday
What's your definition of happiness? It's important to remember that each person's idea of it might be subjective, but the emotion itself isn’t. Happiness is felt the same by everyone, so how can anyone else’s ideal be better or worse than another?
As a creative I find it extremely important to explore! As humans we tend to be habitual. We have the same routine day after day. Yes, it’s important to schedule in your must have’s to get you through your day but, it’s always important to just be! . 🐝
Whether that’s finding a new neighborhood coffee shop, reading a good book outside and smelling the fresh air or going for a stroll in the sand without any shoes on. .👟
So just remember to schedule time to get lost in the moment, because it might help spark ideas you’d never plan on happening!!! .✨
